I've noticed that in BIAB 2018, and in earlier versions, the "Recently Loaded Songs" list may not contain my current or last song in the list. Most of them appear automatically, but not all.
Is this standard, or is there some way to make every song played go onto the recent list?

Well for Current Song, it may not be in the list if you haven't saved it yet. I think that list uses the last Saved songs, not the last listened to songs, if that helps. Your post is not clear what you mean by 'last song'
Just a guess ..
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!

Hello Rharv,
I mean the song I'm currently playing, or just played. I'm not sure why most of these songs appear in the recently played list, but not all.
The songs are saved files. If it's my composition then I save it frequently. So most if not all tunes have been saved on my computer, before being played. This odd behavior has happened in different versions of BIAB. I don't think it's me, but anything is possible.
Last loaded songs are working OK here. I just loaded 5 different songs and they all appear in the recently chosen songs list. I didn't need to save anything.
Are you running BiaB as Administrator? That may have a difference on the access rights to save the data.
BIAB & RB2026 Win.(Audiophile), Windows 10 Pro & Windows 11, Cakewalk Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Session Keys Grand S & Electric R, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M, Pioneer Active Monitors.
Many years ago I discovered that the last ten saved songs is kept in the Windows Registry. It’s one of the few places BIAB-related files are not in the /BB folder (fonts are another example).
If BIAB crashes or otherwise is not ended correctly then I could understand it not writing the current song to that list. Otherwise, I’m stumped. Try what Videotrack suggested.

Hi Matt, and Videotrack,
Thank you for writing. The registry storage location is interesting.
It's a weird thing. I've encountered it in different program versions.
I am running BIAB 2018 as administrator now. I don't recall if I did so with earlier versions. My previous version was 2010.
I open a song, normally with Song Picker. I've used the open file option in the past as well. Usually, I can find the tune in the recent songs list, even if the song is still open. To add it to favorites I go to recent songs and then select Add Fav.
However, other times I have a song open, go to the recent song list and that song isn't on the list. Usually if I repeat the process it shows up, but I use the exact same commands in each scenario.
Occasionally I'll try three times and still the odd song won't be on the recent list. That's rare but occurs.
It's not a big deal. Not a complaint, just wondering if others have seen the behavior, and know how to change it. Thank you all for your assistance.
I prefer to use "Open Special | Favorite Songs" to find the ones that I've recently played. It's necessary to make sure that the options shown by #4 and #5 are set for this to work.
I use this function frequently but I find my files using the FILE command from the top ribbon (File, Edit, Options etc) The last 'used' files show up at he bottom of the drop down menu.

Hi Noel,
Thanks for your graphics. I have those options set, and will use your method.
There are some nice options in "File / Open Special / Favorite Songs".

Hi Dave,
Thanks for posting. I hadn't been opening tunes from the drop down menu, but I see that it's easy and quick.
