So far people are having problems with Sonar, Cakewalk by Bandlab, Studio One, Acid, Reason, Reaper, Cubase, Protools. In general the problems seem to be that the VSTi:
1. Fails to load
2. Fails to generate the style to wav
3. Doesn’t generate Multiriff
4. Locks up the DAW
5. Has no sound on the audition

There have been several build patches, and each fixes one issue, but causes another issue. I hope tomorrow brings some good news regarding the fixes.

Okay and Ableton, plus I tried it in a DAW called Multitrack Studios and guess what no surprise there it locked up the program and it would not finish generating.

I’m absolutely sure if we tried it in N-Track Studios, or any other program it would be the same.

I don't understand how it keeps getting released with things that don't seem that hard to verify. I assume they are rushing but at this point I would strongly suggest just acknowledging the VST is a work in progress and say it will be a priority for January and then release it fully functional on January 31 or something like that.

The issue with mutiriffs not generating (when selecting more than a few bars for the mutltiriff) will be fixed in next patch, expected Monday, (that affects all DAWS).
The usual use, style generation, or single Realtracks etc. is not affected - this is just for the multiriffs function.

Thanks Peter, I look forward to that fix I must say that the multi riff feature is not the only issue. Many of us still can’t hear the auditions.

By the way even though we fuss and complain about this stuff we really do think the direction you and your team are going is very positive and we’re not unaware of the complexity and challenge of what this working with all the different setup possibilities must be.

Peter, In Ableton generate just starts then stops. Also trying one at a time does same.

Stephan, We shot a 30 minute DAW video today demoing the plugin in Ableton, and it worked fine for us. We will have the video ready Monday or Tuesday, and maybe watching it will help. There's also a 610 build that is available here https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=513436#Post513436

I'm pleased to report that after upgrading to BAIB build 610 the VST plug-in appears to be working properly. I was able to generate multiriffs.

I'm not sure it's doing EVERYTHING it's supposed to, but that was the biggie, and before the patch it didn't generate multiriffs.

Edit: I'm using Cubase.

Seems like version 610 is doing ok so far in my Studio One Pro 4. I have been able to use shots and holds and multiriffs with a 64 bar song without error or crashes. I have dragged a MIDI file that was generated and that worked as well as regenerating a whole track.
The rendering time is quite a bit longer than in BIAB or RB but thankyou PGM we are making progress and things are looking better.

I am new to the Forum but have been using BIAB for 4 years. Just upgraded to version 2019 (Build 610) mainly for the use of the AAX Plugin. I use Protools 2018.10 as my DAW, which is the latest subscription version. The problem now is that at start up Protools indicates de BIAB AAX plugin is "Not a valid 64 bit plugin" and makes me move it out to the unused plugins folder. Obviously the tracks from my BIAB song cannot be moved to Protools tracks unless I use the previous method of exporting them as .wav files and then importing the individual tracks into Protools.

Anybody this same issue??? I've searched the Forum for open topics on this Protools-AAX Plugin issue but found little info on it. Need a little help..Pls.

Peter,

I have uninstalled, deleted both VSTs(VST3 and the 64 bit VST). Still the same

Hi Stephen,

Can you please describe the exact steps you took to create this issue? One thing to look for is that your folder paths in the plugin preferences are set correctly, and that when you press the GENERATE button, you begin seeing yellow messages from Band-in-a-Box in the bottom right corner of the screen. Are you able to select tracks (ie: style, RT, RD, MR, etc.)? Thank you for the feedback!

My RealTracks and Drums are located @ C:\bb\ , I open the Daw Plugin in Studio One 4 or Live 10. Put in some chords\select style and hit "Generate" progress goes a third of the and then stops. Then nothing..

So to confirm, are you seeing yellow BB messages in the bottom right corner of your screen? Which style do you select that causes this? Have you tried with other styles? I would like to try recreating your problem on my computer so I can determine what exactly it is that's preventing the tracks from generating properly. It would be great if you could give me the steps (with details on what you are selecting) so that I could try the exact same thing on my end. Also could you go into your C:\bb\ folder and email me (aguy@pgmusic.com) the "bbinput.txt" file that is there? It has to be immediately after the generate crash happens, but that may help me narrow down the problem. Thanks Stephan!

Adar,

It is not crashing. The generation process is just stopping.

Stephan,
You should likely start a new thread for this Ableton issue. I suspect it’s being lost in this long thread. Maybe there’s another Ableton user who sees it and can provide info.
