Anyone know of a plugin or patch to allow multiple MIDI inputs to BIAB 2019?

I want to use any of three midi keyboards connected but BIAB allows just one at a time

Thanks

Kind of like filling a water cup with a fire hose!

all seriousness aside do your keyboards have usb out then use a usb hub. I still believe you would have to switch them internally but i'm sure one of the midiots around here will weigh in

For a software solution, maybe midiox and loopbe?

I use 2 free programs, loopMIDI to create the virtual ports, and MIDI-OX to create routing connections

(trying to add picture attached I hope!)

Another way also, you can use MiniHost and
midiIn.dll , each set to a different keyboard sending to any VSTi of default synth.

Thanks to all who responded What an awesome forum!

I have both 5 pin and Usb keys but BIAB only needs to "see" the usb from the UA4FX midi audio interface I use where the 5 pin keyboard is plugged in

Jerry

I assume you are using the 32 bit version of BIAB as MidiOx appears to be 32 bit only

Right?

I will play around this coming weekend and get back to you all

George,

No, it doesn't matter if the programs that you connect to are 32-bit or 64-bit.

loopMIDI and MIDI-OX happen to be 32-bit programs, sure, but their job is just to steer the USB keyboard MIDI signals in and out. It's the signals you want.

So, for example, in BIAB (either 32 or 64) you're configuring the MIDI input device to be what you created in the loopMIDI program.
In my case, it's "loopMIDI Port 2".
In Reaper, the MIDI input device that I created is called "loopMIDI Port 1", and for RealBand, it's "loopMIDI Port 3". You could add more if needed.

MIDI-OX takes the output from my Nektar LX49+ and then sends it to all 3 of these "pseudo-devices". Likewise with the UM-ONE device, that's a USB device on my Roland E-20 keyboard. It's probably harder to describe it all, than it is to set it up! Good help files are included.

Net effect is that I have both keyboards available simultaneously to all 3 programs. Plus, those monitor lights and log are handy troubleshooting tools.
Now if I can only get good at playing, LOL! Having fun learning.
