Here's a few things I did. I bought a fancy refurb with 8GB and still got both write access violations and access violations. I was beyond my wits end and very mad.1st I received bad info from someone at pg telling me lugging around the external hard drive was fine. WRONG !My excellent computer place hipped me up to this. This is a very bad idea if you're a steady working musician as I. It's a mechanical drive and needs to be babied big time hence me spending a lot for me for a computer that could handle the ultra pak and a padded backpak for it. These 2 things are a must if you're gigging with biab. Believe it or not when I got the error messages again I ran the compatibility trouble shooter and it FIXED IT at least for now. I will be using it non stop for the next week and always have my back up 2014 biab on another computer with me. I am hopeful and wish to to avoid a nasty run in with support. Sadly I lose my temper,but it is my income so I freak ! If I run into zero issues of this sort I won't be replying again because the fix held. Good luck to all. Don't be afraid to spend some money and follow the above tips if you think they may work for you. jimmyg

BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Slate VSX, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

BIAB 2019 DOES NOT WORK PERIOD both 64-bit and 32-bit are working fine for me. I've been using the program, and both versions, daily since it was first released. In that time, I've come across problems that have been fixed but at no time has the program ever stopped working. Regards, Noel

Hello Jim,
I've followed your threads, and it sounds like you get an access violation sometimes. We need more information to be able to figure out what's going on. It sounds like you were previously using the program on an external USB drive, but have since copied it to your internal laptop hard drive. Is this correct? We will need to identify *when* the access violation is happening, since it is not very useful to say it happens sometimes randomly. More likely, there is a specific file it happens with or sequence of events when it occurs.
Before you do anything more though (and if you are still trying to fix this problem) you should download and install the latest update patch - there is a link in a sticky post at the top of this forum.

Sounds like a HD with bad sectors, a misaligned reader head, an extremely fragmented HD or a combination of some or all the above. I don't think's BIAB in this case.

BIAB has always been virtually bullet proof for me. For a while I lugged a laptop around playing live but in the days of midi invested in a file player and a roland sound module - much more robust.
These days with RealTracks, converting all the numbers I play live to mp3 allows playback on an ipod. the only drawback is 'one playlist one song' which avoids the next mp3 playing automatically.
make sure you normalise all the tracks as i've found BIAB can vary volume with styles.
on the other hand you could always play the mp3s from a laptop and simply plug that into the PA.
playing live we always had a back up - so the ipod and the laptop should mean you always have the tracks available regardless of accidents.

No I installed on a 2nd computer I bought for 2019 ultra from the hard drive you sent. Tunes from 2014 were on the flash which I need for my gig
