I'm in a windows 10 environment, using the hard drive verion of biab 2019. I point the installer to the correct directory (F:/bb)and it refuses to install saying that the directory does not contain biab 2019 or higher.
Support's not open until Monday. Any suggestions?

Redownload the installer. There is likely no reason for such a message unless the installer is messed up. Worth the try.

Hi John,
When you enter the path did you use the 'Browse' option or did you type it in?
If you typed it in, double-check that the back-slash is typed rather than the forward slash as typed above in your post. That is... F:\bb and not F:/bb

new file has same result. I tried installing build 11. same result.
Biab works and reports its on build 608
|

Generally a very simple process. We have all be updating along with the last several builds. Must be something simple or something strange.
The newest upgrades always generally default to where it was last installed. Have you moved anything? Can you actually run the prior build from the F drive?

John,
Have you opened Windows File Explorer to double-check that F:\ is the BIAB USB drive?
Also, using File Explorer, check to see if BBW64.EXE is present in the F:\bb root directory. (Depending on your computer settings, the file maybe just BBW64 without the .EXE ending.)

Do a search for BBW.EXE and make sure it's located in the directory you are trying to install it in. If the installer does not find BBW.EXE in the directory you're trying to install it in, it won't install the update.

John, do take on Noel's advice about the path format. You did demonstrate that you used a forward slash ('/') where Windows paths always use a backslash ('\') as a path delimiter.

If the installer does not find BBW.EXE in the directory you're trying to install it in, it won't install the update. That's exactly what happened. I reinstalled from the download to a test directory, copied BBW.exe to the usb hard drive and updated successfully. Thanks for everyone's help.
