I'm finding that tracks recorded in BIAB will show up in Logic at at a slower BPM than originally recorded!

Anyone have a fix?

Thanks!

I've never heard of this. Some DAWs don't change the bpm of the track at all; the DAW has its own tempo. I'm not familiar with Logic.

But can you give a specific example? BIAB x bpm --> Logic y bpm? That may give a clue. I'm wondering about sample rate.

And, Logic requires that you have a Mac (unless you do a kludge to run it on a PC). Perhaps this question would be better asked in the BIAB for Mac Forum.

Like Matt, I haven't heard of this at all, either.

I use Reaper and I have to manually set the tempo in Reaper to match BIAB. The bars in Reaper then align perfectly with BIAB bars. Reaper does not set the tempo automatically when I load the tracks into Reaper.

Can you give us an example of the numbers? e.g. in BIAB the tempo is 78 but in Logic I have to set it to 76, etc.

Also are these Realtracks or MIDI tracks or both that suffer from this tempo difference?

Right, that's another good question: RealTracks, MIDI, or both, and how are they handled?

I assumed it might be MIDI. Of course, he did say "recorded" which might indicate audio. Some DAWS I know will handle audio as 'acidized' and know the correct tempo. But again, this is about Logic, which PC users don't use.

Cowboy, I' ve had wonky results with this, too, and have found that setting the same tempo and key in Logic as in my BIAB project BEFORE dragging/dropping any tracks seems to do the trick. I haven't really experimented around much with it (as to whether it makes a difference whether BIAB project is all midi, all "real" tracks, or a mixture makes a difference).

If it's about 20% slower it probably is due sample rate settings. This will happen if BIAB is set to 48kHz, and your DAW to 44.1kHz. If you export the data through BIAB's 'export audio' function, you can save with ACID info tagged, might solve other similar problems. MIDI export has also some additional settings like RealCharts to include etc.

Does it show up at the same tempo that Logic was previously set to before importing the track, or something else again?
As the others have asked, more information is really required.
