Hey folks, an actual functional question  I have been trying to figure this out for a while now, so I thought I would finally ask. I have been playing around a lot more recently with different chord phrasings ect and the ways that the chord window does progressions in the bars. (example c \f \g,g \c,c,c,c or putting rests in as well as part marker placement for desired fill effects) and have had a bit of success it getting the layout of how the song flows a lot better. But one thing still alludes me. Is there a way to have the chord on a certain bar at a higher octave for some instruments? For example I want the rhythm guitar to play a c but not at the root level but higher up the fretboard at say bar 16 then play it maybe somewhere else in another bar. since I had to give up the guitar(carpel) im really trying biab to become my replacement in guitar and bass parts, so this would be awesome and give me some more tools to use to make unique parts.

I think the answer is generally, No. BIAB does not let you select chord voicing. Having said that you do understand that midi chord voices can be adjusted after the fact, so that a chord inversion can be played or the octave can be dropped or raised. But if you do that you have to freeze the track since any regeneration will destroy all your effort. What many of us do is use BIAB to carve out the lion share of the arrangement with its push of a button and then move the tracks to our DAW for that type of manipulation. In the case of guitar I have nicely used the BIAB guitar midi to drive a VSTi Guitar synth which does permit voicing changes by inserting switches. In the case of RTs there is much less flexibility. But these guys playing are pros so I tend to defer to their judgement and talent and am not quick to judge them.

If you want it to play on a higher octave use a free Pitch Shifter VST on the track or if it is just a section/s generate the realtrack section/s on another track using F5 to mute and un-mute both tracks at the given bars then apply the Pitch Shifter VST to that track.
