I have encounter this several times, and today again.. I import a karaoke file, and every word comes up double.. And if I export as midi, to play it in Karafun, it also become double there, when the original karaoke file play fine in both Karafun and vanbasco karaokeplayer...
Is it anything I can do to avoid this problem?
I have used a work around before, by running the original karaoke in Karafun for export as Video, then joined my Biab exported version of same file as .wav in Format Factory Mux... But, the endresult often come out NOT synchronized properly..

Hi
This problem normally arises when the file contains both midi lyric events and Karaoke lyric text events.
Midi players use midi lyric events Karaoke players use text events .
Some programs can / do read both that’s the rub!
You should see this in your midi events list.

I don't karaoke - the world likes it better that way
But have you tried messing artound in these two areas:
1] "Chord Display" button/display/ show hide section text
2] Prefs/display options
?

Ok, thank's for trying to help me out here guys.. But I stil cannot find out of this.. Since it is only in some karaoke files, it's obvious that it has to do with this section text stuff.. But I tried hard to find that menu Show/Hide section text, but was unable to find it... So where exactly is it? I think I was looking for at least 30 min. to find it, but nope...;)

So in this example, each word is 4 times, when i should be one time...;)

Hmmm. OK then. I'm not really sure. If it had been repeating characters (lliikkee tthhiiss) it could have been related to what they call Multi-Byte Character sets, but I don't think that's correct for your current problem.
Where do the karaoke files originate from?

Where do the karaoke files originate from?
I am not 100% sure about that, but my guess is Classical Archive, since it is a classical piece by Edvard Grieg... It's not really a mega problem, since it works in Karafun, so I can make a karaoke video from it there, and just add my exported Biab render of the file to it as the sound... But it is a strange thing and it's just to hope that some PG- staff could jump in, perhaps I could send this midi file to them, for investigation... Thank's for trying to help me out anyway...

if so you can edit out all but one there .
However lyric events are tied to note events so make sure you keep the one that matches the note you want it to go with.
This sort of problem can arise by having lyric events tied to different instruments on different tracks, so make sure you look at each track that contains lyric events separately in events list this will make editing removal easier.

If so try opening one in RB and see what happens. I used to use .kar file exclusively in RB to make all my cover tunes

Mike It was 4 track in this song, but when I deleted 3 so only one left, the words are still 4 double... So it seems like it's not tied to notes in this 3 other tracks that I deleted...

I used to use .kar file exclusively in RB to make all my cover tunes Yes, I tried right now to open it in RB, and it was more "normal" there, except for every word that is over two or more notes was separated by space... I hate using RB, because it NEVER EVER works without some strange problems for me.. Like this time, I tried to bring in Kontakt as VSTi to play the melody, but ALL of them was refused, saying it is not a valid VST.. I tried BOTH 32 and 64 bits... And one I was able to open, gave som strange sound that it NEVER gives in BiaB... So RB ONLY makes headache to me and has ALWAYS done...;)

I'm guessing the lyrics were written onto more that one track, and deleting 3 of the tracks after the import wasn't enough. The solution may be to only import one channel in the first place, not import them all and then delete tracks after the import.

PG Music Ok, thank's for stepping in Kent.. But how to import only one channel of a multi channel midifile? I tried the only way I could think of, importing chord from midifiles and then select only channel 1 to be imported to the melody track, but there is still 4 double words, so that did not help.. Is there any other ways to import only one channel? Anyway, I think I just upload this particular midifile to my dropbox and post the link here, so that also Mike and others that want to have a look at it can also do..

I think you may be able to use RealBand to do this.
In RealBand, check out Edit > MIDI > Extract Channels to Tracks.
I'm not sure what it will do with lyrics though.

Hi Trygve,
When you click Melody - Edit Melody Track - Import Melody from MIDI File, the first thing you're asked is which channels you want to import.

Here is the link to the midi file; Dropbox Try it in a midi/karaokeplayer like VanBasco or Karafun to see it plays normal there.. Then in RB, almost normal and in BB abnormal...;)
