When I save a file that has a F5 command at a given point (say to mute a particular part) that F5 command does not mute in the MP3 or Wav file.
Any suggestions.

Hi DWG,
What version of BIAB are you using? Also, have you updated that version to the latest build? Lastly, has this worked for you in the past using your current version of BIAB?
The above information is obtained by looking under "Help | About Band In A Box". You'll see something like 2015(417) which says the version is 2015 and its latest update is #417.

I am using 2019 version build 614. I think I am up to snuff on the latest versions.

Just a thought have you regenerated the song since you introduced the mutes into the original, if so do you have you frozen any tracks, as this will stop regeneration. Therefore you will be saving /rendering the old original non muted version.
In other words, when you play the chord sheet prior to saving or rendering to wave are the mutes effective in the play back.

The tracks are frozen. I did that because I like the arrangement that BiaB gave me. If I regenerate won't it change the notes of the Real Tracks?

Just as a test make a test copy of your project with a new name check your or enter the F5 settings and work on that try with the tracks unfrozen/ regenerate and save / render as wav and see if the F5 mutes etc are effective then, Mike

Wow! Thank you so much! That is exactly what I needed to do. I did not realize that regenerating would not change the notes in the real tracts. (At least I did not hear any real blaring differences.)

Great now you have it doing what you want with regard to mutes etc
Re freeze your tracks, if you are happy with the phrasing and arrangement.
and test again for saving from .
