All of a sudden I have volume control and panning issues with Halion Sonic 3.2.10 and HS SE 3.2.15. They don't work, but no crashes with BIAB. ... it worked before, and you can set volume etc in the Halion VST's GUI itself.
This happens not only in BIAB, but also with Cubase. I wonder if this is a windows issue maybe. Other GM plugins work fine, like Coyote BTW. Any finds from HS users?
I posted about this on the Steinberg forum, but no reply yet. F
You may need to map those controls manually (this is necessary with some synths).
I don't have Sonic installed, but from what I'm seeing online, you may just need to right-click on a channel's volume control, select Learn CC, and move the corresponding volume slider on the Band-in-a-Box mixer.

Thanks Kent PG Music
Thanks all, and Kent: My Man Again ..... that works !
But Halion and H. Sonic each STILL crashes 64-bit BIAB if you use Halion GUIs' Pan or Vol. I just tested again with latest BIAB and Halion and re-pinged PG Tech support with an email on it
So the claim you made in title that its "solved" is only partially true: if you use only CC's from BIAB it NOT crash but you can't use the Halion parts Vol/pan from the Halion GUI in 64 bit BIAB

Alas, Larry ... not on my system. I just tried it, especially for you. I think it has to do with windows 10 in relation to your graphics cards drivers. Like something to do with hardware acceleration, or the installed Visualbasics or DotNET. I had problems with GUI's of some plugins. Finally gone after de-installing all those, and reinstalling them in chronological order, both x86 and x64 versions.
There's a lot of info and complaints, plus responds from a tech about acknowledged bugs, on the Steinberg forum on halion 3. I wouldn't know where to look for as i don't know your PC's configuration ... i don't think BIAB 216 x64 is the cause. F
PS i saw you have a Focusrite Scarlett 18i8. I had a 56 Saffire Liquid for about a year (Windows 7 still using Firewire). Had various problems then in the beginning, and at a certain point a Focusrite tech sent me personally adapted drivers or mixcontrol fixing it. Alas i don't know exactly anymore what the problems were, but it had to do with mixcontrol, samplerate errors and ADAT. I sold the Focusrite in favor of an RME firewire 800 (and then an UFX) after a year.
Only reason I stepped in here at all: a few weeks back someone asked other users of BIAB+ Halion to check. I did and I had issues, so I reported them. I still have issues with that combination. However, personally I have no use or need for 64-bit BIAB (no one really does) and therefore I have no need to use 64-it Halion with it, so I guess I'll stop here.
Glad you got it working
Larry

Hi Larry, i used Halion Sonic 3 with BIAB 2018 for over a year, jBridged; and somehow it all loaded automatically, never needed manual conversion ... Also used Coyote Forte now and then, but Halion sounded better, and is GM2.

Yep have Halion running great here on biab 2018 (yes that is 2018), nice too that once you set it to GM in options that will stick and no need to do it after that.
All volume sliders etc can be adjusted from either within Halion or just use the Biab sliders.
Love the sounds of Halion compared to the other synths.
