In BIAB I know there is the Conductor to do live gig loops, jumps, repeats... but don't think it can do what I want.
What I want to do is, in real time with MIDI keys or QWERTY, at a random time in the chart selected by me, mute all instruments except for a bass or drums solo. And then at a desired time after an 8 or 16 bar bass or drum solo, bring all instruments back in and continue to end.
Any way to make BIAB or RealBand do this ? Or is this something for Ableton Live or ... ?
Tnx for any help,
Bob

Can you use Alt+2 to mute all and then you can play the live drum/bass solo then Alt+2 to bring the BB instruments back. MIDI HotKey Portable will send HotKeys from your MIDI Keyboard https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=507168#Post507168EDIT: not sure if you mean the drums and bass are live playing or BB, if it's BB you can mute the others, MIDI HotKey might send multiple ? if not AutoHotKey will. Muting Parts Alt+2 Mutes all tracks Alt+3 Mutes the Bass track Alt+4 Mutes the Piano track Alt+5 Mutes the Drums track Alt+6 Mutes the Guitar track Alt+7 Mutes the Strings track Alt+8 Mutes the Melody track Alt+9 Mutes the Soloist track Alt+0 Mutes the Thru track

Many thanks for the prompt and helpful answer Pipeline.
Yup, that will do what I want. BIAB is so feature rich its hard to find the answers sometimes- I even looked in the docs.
Last question: do your solutions also work in Real Band ?

You can also go into song settings and bar setting and chose which tracks mute and where. Then chose where they unmute

In RB just use volume automation to mute each track you want to mute and unmute.

Then chose where they unmute O/P asked for ' in real time with MIDI keys or QWERTY, at a random time in the chart selected by me' I don't think that this suggestion could be done as a real-time, random operation?

...do your solutions also work in Real Band ?
Bob RealBand you should be able to use Conductor, just try putting a blank section of track using midi after the ending, or use the metronome to write a midi track a bit longer than the song and turn the volume down, set the number of bars to a few more than where the song ends, with the Conductor you can then get it to loop those blanks bars in that new section while you play the drum/bass solo then return back to the song with the Conductor. If I think of a better way will let you know.
