I've been regularly using the old "DAW" mode successfully in my projects. I can testify it works very well and covers my needs.
I'm just curious to know if the new "plugin mode" really brings new and innovative features.
To me the new plugin mode looks like a stripped down version of Bb... and for now I'm under the impression that the old DAW mode is still more powerful since it contains all the features of BB instead of just a few.
I'd be glad to hear your opinion and feedback!

The plugin does not have, and likely is not intended to have, all the features of the full version of Band-in-a-Box.
In my opinion the plugin is a tool that introduces Band-in-a-Box to traditional DAW users. Traditional DAW users do not want to create Band-in-a-Box song projects. For the most part, DAW users are not familiar with the capabilities of Band-in-a-Box and are dismissive of the product.
But, DAW users will welcome a plugin that can be used inside a DAW to (magically) generate musical audio files that will be easily imported into their DAW.
Think about the number of utilities that have both standalone and VST versions. That's the ultimate goal. Quick and easy, use the VST. Need all the features, use the program.
Another user, jazzmammel, created the nickname of "Band-in-a-Box Lite or BiaB Lite" and that really does describe a great way to think of the plugin.
The benefit to everyone is the plugin hopefully will bring a lot of new ideas, customers, forum members and wish list requests.

Hello Jim,
Thank you for your answer, as a longtime user of this software, I didn't realize that the new Bb plugin could be an incentive to discover more about the software itself, even if the people who use the plugin have already purchased the full version of Bb...
For my part, I will continue to use the'DAW' mode which takes full advantage of all BB functions.
Yes, the term 'Band in a Box lite'sounds like a good description of this new feature.

The plugin still needs a bit of work and more features added,
what you can't do in Biab is generate MultiRiffs and play them along side the tracks in you DAW to see what riff fits the best, when the plugin is all working correctly you will be able to play the track/section in sync to the existing DAW tracks.

To me the plug-in has opened a new shorter way to create different tracks directly in the DAW that before needed more passages. A great improvement. I sometime still start with the actual program, but then I create all directly in the DAW with the multiriff and the other plugin features.
