It has been a while since I posted a new tune, so I thought I would come back with a bluegrass tune that I wrote a while back. It is a very basic melody going back to a simpler time, although an important one, for me at least. I hope you all enjoy it. It is good to be back.

The Place where My Memories Dwell

I went for a drive down A quiet country lane
to a place I remember so well
the old church is gone but it still lingers on
in that place where my memories dwell

chorus

the place where my memories dwell
that place where my memories dwell
the old church is gone but it still lingers on
in that place where my memories dwell

my mind wanders back to my childhood
and that weathered old church on the hill
the place where I first met my savior
it lives in my memory still

repeat chorus

I stopped and walked up on the hillside
and I felt those first tears start to flow
and I fell on my knees and prayed to my lord
just like that first time long ago

repeat chorus

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Sometimes something a bit more basic works wonders! In this case I think you did a great job, so thanks for sharing!

I really really, really enjoyed listening to this little waltz...
I like your vocal delivery & presentation...
Reminded me of something Vern Gosdin would include on one of his albums!
Now the question...

Where is "Noah"?...
I really liked that one also...
I went back the next day to hear it again & it was gone...
I think there were only 2 of us on the forum who were lucky enough to hear it...
If possible, please reconsider & bring it back.

This really well done. Nice use of the dobro. I think that a lot of the bluegrass real tracks are among the best. Very well sung. I really enjoyed it, Tom

What a tune! A pristine example that sometimes less is more. It's sweet and to the point, and gets right into it. Nicely catchy, and your vocals are sincere and definitely standout. I really loved the solo sections too. The entire tune is very subtle and calming to listen to.

Really well done - thanks for sharing smile

Nicely done. This is a very relatable song. Vocals sound good and so does your "band."

Hi guitar1,

I truly enjoyed listening to this song. I have to admit that I know next to nothing about this genre / style of music, but to my ears it sounded very good. Your vocals are great and the mix sounds excellent!

Thank you for sharing!

Thanks so much, Joe, Ember and Deryk. When I use to perform this in churches, it was popular because people could sing along to the Chorus. Thanks again.

A very relate-able song. The sort of thing I have listen to live in East Texas on several occasions.

I think Bluegrass and Country are the styles that BB does really well.

Good tune. I enjoyed it.

Cheers,

Billy

I don't want to overload the forum with a long string of comments, so I will say this. I really appreciate all who took the time to comment on this latest tune. Your comments mean a lot to me and I thank each and every one of you.

Also, In answer to Jim's question about a previous song posting. Jim, I was not in a good place when I posted "Noah" and after listening to it later, I was not happy at all with my vocal performance. I am rerecording the vocals and I will repost when it is finished. I thank you for asking. Maybe I will be better satisfied this time. Thanks again and be well all.
