This morning I was greeted with this message on my BIAB 2019 startup.

Some features are disabled. Menu-Help-Activation to activate.Program is not activated. Reason is: You can only use this copy of the program on one computer. If you want to use the program on a new computer, choose Menu Help Activation or Menu-Help-Restore [2019.623.0, 3/10/2019 11:08:44 AM]

This machine has been activated for the past 3 months. No matter what I tried to do, for example follow the instruction, it would always return to this message.

Any ideas?

Call Support.

You haven't changed anything in the "C:\Users\Public\Ticket" folder recently?

No changes that I am aware.

I have apparently fixed it by "return to factory settings". But what a pain. Now I have noticed my Coyote Forte is gone and can't be found and replaced with CoyoteFX. But this is another subject.

Sunday night here....... too late to call Support!

I'm getting the exact same error messages about "not activated".
Tried reset to ALL factory defaults --- no help.

Under the "About" menu, again it says Not Activated..... yet clearly shows my license code!
Any ideas on what's going on, is there some licensing server that is causing this?
Worked fine yesterday.....

Dan and photodoc, I couldn't verify this; my build 623 is working fine. Question: are you Running as Administrator?


BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Roland Integra-7, Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

Yep, always run it as Administrator. It was working the previous day, under 623, and nothing changed today.
I also have the issue with the ACW not running in 64-bit, but does run in 32-bit.

I contacted Support (Mike) today --- quickly resolved this issue!

I had to delete 2 files in the C:\Users\Public\Ticket folder

bb2019_full.Ticket and
bb2019_trial.Ticket

Then start the program, asks you to activate it, and success. (Those same 2 files are then again present in the folder)
Numerous calls about this issue, they're not sure why any thing changed, but there's the fix.

As far as my ACW problem in 64-bit, Mike helped me use it "correctly" now with the "new" Audio Chord Wizard, which works fine.
I'll explain further in the other thread regarding that one. Good support, folks!

I had the same issue a couple of days ago. Support suggested the same fix and it worked for me as well.

Guess what just came back! I swear to God every time I try to just sit down and make music something distracts me...

Hi all!

The most recent Windows Update did cause a disruption where Band-in-a-Box would prompt the user to re-activate their license. The error displayed as "this program can only be used on one computer" - confusing, I know wink

Band-in-a-Box 2019 users who are still getting the message can repair their license by running the small .exe HERE

Users with a 2018 or older version of Band-in-a-Box getting this error should close Band-in-a-Box and then delete the two ticket files found here C:\Users\Public\Ticket folder

bb201X_full.Ticket and bb201X_trial.Ticket

Once done, launch Band-in-a-Box again and you should be back up and running! If you are still unable to get activated - please email us at sales@pgmusic.com and we'll do some further troubleshooting.

Hi Alyssa.

I have the same problem with my 2019 copy of Band in a Box.
I have tried everything posted in this forum, including deinstalling the program.

Still no way to use BB again.

Anything else I can try ?

I suggest you try emailing as Alyssa has described above, viz: "If you are still unable to get activated - please email us at sales@pgmusic.com and we'll do some further troubleshooting"
