Is there any way to increase the number of recently opened files (shown under the top File drop down box) from the (it seems) default of five?

Clicking on the arrow at the bottom of the "Song" icon gives a menu which includes recently loaded songs (also available from Shif-F3). There are a lot more than five songs there if that helps. You can also make this the default action for the Song icon.

Like Andy, I use SHIFT+F3 too (it's the shortcut for "File | Open Special | Open Favorite Songs").
I have it set to list "Recently Played" rather than "Favotires".

I checked this a decade ago. There were ten files, and it was one of the few things BIAB stored in the Registry. I'm not sure how this info is stored now.
BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Roland Integra-7, Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.
