Do what it says?
It's an alert message, not an error warning. If you ignore it and BIAB plays back without issue then it isn't a problem.
There are some apps that will change your audio settings upon launch. Dragon Dictation is one I use that does this.
It might happen that an upcoming 64 bit version may deal with this issue (it did with Finale 25) but we'll have to wait and see.

It’s a problem (albeit a minor one) because I have to close it every time I click play. It’s an annoyance since there doesn’t seem to be a way of telling BIaB that the settings are fine and to stop bugging me. edit: The device in question (Focusrite Scarlet 2i4) has 4 outputs. It’s not possible to just switch two of them off.

Although my hardware/software requirements are no doubt different than yours I use this application for " sound control and settings " https://staticz.com/soundcontrol/there's trial version ( would be interested to know if it works for your setup )

That isn't the real issue. It's 48k vs 44.1k.
None of my 64bit apps have that anymore but my 32bit apps did, especially Finale before 25 and Digital Performer 7 if set to 44.1k.
Now only BIAB does since Dragon Dictate resets the core audio to 48kHz. It'd be nice if it didn't but it does and the Mac version is dead, dead, dead — no more updates or upgrades — you can't even buy it anymore (and I refuse to go back to Windows to get it back).

Apparently, this is fixed in the update announced today. We'll see.
