Hi All, I recently loaded the style _JKSRBAL.STY it has a piano Realtrack 892 it came back with truly horrible chord selection when playing Eb7.
The piece B, B7 | Eb7 , Ab | Fm7, Bb7 | Eb7, Ab ....
I change the piano to 1602 which came out just fine.
Just a heads up for whom ever is concerned.

If you freeze the tracks you can attach the SGU file to an email with comments about which bars have the bad sounds and send the email to support@pgmusic.com.
The frozen tracks and your comments help them zero in on the issue.

If you freeze the tracks you can attach the SGU file to an email with comments about which bars have the bad sounds and send the email to support@pgmusic.com.
The frozen tracks and your comments help them zero in on the issue. Job done, I restored the original style (the ugly chords came back), froze the tracks, renamed the SGU (I didn’t want to overwrite the good one), attached to a message to Support. Thanks Jim Tony

The chords were “ugly” each time you regenerated the track? Did some improve when regenerating?

They remain ugly albeit they shifted. I put the track into RealBand and redid odd bits (the offending chords) using MultiRiff. This made it almost usable. However once I changed the piano from realtrack 892 to realtrack 1602 it was fine (works a treat in fact).
(Edit) Oh, I forgot to add even a key change from Eb to C did not fix the issue. Only the new piano part fixed it.
When I loaded the SGU with the new piano track it was fine. Swapped back to the original style (with piano 892) then once again terrible.

I used your chord progression to recreate the problem. Since this piano Realtrack has a Realchart, I was able to see what was happening across multiple generations. BIAB seems to want to add an F-natural to the Eb7 chord, making it an Eb9 chord, except it's playing the 9 in the 2 position, rather than at the top of the chord. It even did this when I changed the song to use simple arrangement. I suspect that's where the dissonance is coming from.

An Eb9 in that position is called a cluster chord and is just another chord voicing in jazz. Check the box "Jazz down the chords".

Thanks Bob, as I said changing the piano realtrack fixed the issue. The new piano part fits ok and sounds better all up. I raised the issue more as a heads up. Thanks for looking into it.
I tried “simplifying” it but that did very little. (I played about with it quite a bit.)

What I really love is when it is suggested to a cowboy to “jazz down the chords”. Here I am thinkin’ country music has come some way from “I, IV and V”. For over 50 years I just flew blind playing what I thought sounded good. (All tongue in cheek)
But, I do agree there are many really good folk on the forums offering world class help to all and sundry. Thanks for being you (I think the words are.)
