Can Band in Box transpose chords in screen for non-concert instruments players who are reading while music stay unchanged? this is a question about a simple task I have received frequently in spanish forum I don't still have a answer. There is a approach in Pref/Tranzport menu, but it need a external special hardware. Winds/brass players know what I´m talking about...think of Cmaj chord, for a tenor sax player for example, it would be very convenient for them to see Dmaj in screen since it is a Bb instrument. That is possible in BIAB? I haven´t found it a glance neither a hide workaround. Any help or enlighten about it is very welcome.

G'day Carlos,
I'm not sure what you're asking...
Do you want the music notation AND the chord symbols to be transposed? If so, then Martin's response will help. You could also look at the "Transpose for non-Concert" part of the practice window (the big "P" button on the toolbar).
However, if you only want the chord symbols to change while the music notation remains at concert or vice versa, then I don't think BIAB will do this.

Martin, Lawrie, The Transpose options on Notation Windows Options and the "Transpose for non-Concert" on big "P" basically let do what I wanted to know...nice! thanks both for that . However you also´r right Lawrie, my extended idea is for example a non-concert instrument partner reading chords and myself playing guitar reading notation in concert key or viceversa. Now as you said it seem BIAB can´t do that.. yet. Thanks again. Let us still here, maybe someone could bring additional tips about transpose in BIAB.

When I want to do that with a horn and keyboard I set the keyboard transpose to -2 and read the same notation. When I want to do it with a trumpet player, I usually print him the leadsheet in a key he/she wants, and then play it whatever key I like best or know. For example lots of stuff is in 3 flats, and I love that key. But I'm not happy with some 6 sharps so I transpose.
For trumpet Jazz gigs I can give the guy leadsheets say in G and then if I'm on regular piano I have one in F.
Of course Utopia would be 2 lcd screens, flat, one in front of each player with the computer based lead sheet in the right key for each of them, or even better the whole orchestra, is bass, treble, C instruments , Bflat, Eflat, BBflat...maybe someday! Imagine replacing those big black music stands with a score in front of you on a paper thin kindle style device. On can only dream, I figure they are going to plant me about the time it gets very interesting.
