When trying different styles for a songs I would like a way to save a small number of styles (5-10) for each song that I am considering for my final arrangement. At the moment the only options that seem to be available are:

1 - save multiple versions of the song with the possible style choices

2 - add the style to the global favourites

3 - use the recent styles and hope I remember which ones that I liked

Ideally I'd like these choices to be accessible by from a right mouse click in the Style Selection box. For consistency saving to could also be achieved in a similar way possibly to a number of user defined slots. When all slots are filled the user could be prompted to select which slot to replace when adding another style to the list.

Could you use the Song Memo?

A good idea. A drop-down ComboBox control could be used to store the previous 15 - 20 nominated Styles selected in a first-in-first-out order for each particular song. This way, the most recently used style is at the top, the next previous is second from the top etc for this specific song.

A BIG +1

Whenever I get something stuck in the back of my throat, I dislodge it by drinking a beer.
It's called the Heineken Maneuver.

64 bit Win 10 Pro, the latest BiaB/RB, Roland Octa-Capture audio interface, a ton of software/hardware

I'm afraid that is another of those suggestions that, if implemented, just leads to comments that BIAB is too confusing and complicated. Unfortunately PG tend to react too readily to these pet suggestions I have been solving this problem by simply saving multiple versions of the same song with slightly different and informative file names, as you suggested.

Tony makes an interesting point. Is a suggestion likely to cause confusion? Bloat? Is it a high priority in the larger scheme of things?

I normally don't try to address those considerations, letting the good folks at PG Music set the goals and priorities. But if I had to vote, this suggestion could be worthwhile but would not make my top 50 list of things I would like to see.

Whilst it wouldn't be on the very top of my list either, it's a worthwhile suggestion nevertheless.

It would certainly not over-complicate the program, in fact it would make this exact issue easier to use.

I've faced this exact same problem several times. Saving the song multiple times with different names would be more complicated to me than an automated feature that works in the background and just remembers the previous style choices for this particular song.

Definitely +1

Thanks for the Memo Suggestion Matt that's definitely workable.

Tony I have to agree about the bloat but I feel that this will only effectively be overcome by removing features rather than stopping enhancements. But because everything in the program is used by someone I'm sure that this has been avoided to date because of the objections that PG Music would receive.
