Immediate thoughts are very nice lyric, melody and vocals.
We don't sense anything ho-hum about it. It's a fine love lost song just the right amount of contemplative lyric and nothing that gets overly dramatic, i.e,. an attention holder.
Thanks for sharing it. Early production or not we enjoyed it!

Thanks for the response. I did bring done the volume on a quick remix this evening (per your previous comment). Hey, I had edited that out as I try not to get into mix comments unless the poster specifically asks for them plus It is so subjective. And I later noticed you had not mentioned the mix. We'll listen again when we get to the monitors. Cheers, Bud No worries. I appreciate the constructive criticism, whether solicited or not. I'm learning as I go.

A really superb production, vocally excellent and the mix is outstanding.
I really enjoyed the resonator, which drives the backing quite uniquely.
Excellent. Thanks so much VT!

A fine vehicle for your excellent resonant voice. Your vocal processing is just right too. The melody has a familiar lilt and suits the folky style ( a little Gordon Lightfoot to me ears). Easy to hum and not at all ho-hum!

Scott,
A really nice song.
As others have noted, the backing tracks are just what they need to be to get the song across. Your vocal is excellent - and really "carries the day".
The mix sounds good. The guitar solo is very well put together - sounds like it was played specifically for the song.
Everything about this - the write, the production, the way you sing it - reminds me of Gordon Lightfoot. Would have been a fine addition to his repertoire...

I thinks it's a great song Scott! The simplified chord structure suits it very well! Nice job on the vocals! Thanks, Torrey

Robert Thanks, Robert. As I recall, I was inspired by GL when I wrote this one.

fj Thanks for the listen. I really liked the way the multi-riff worked out for the guitar solo.

Really nice vocals on this one... Conveying your well-written lyrics... I believe this tune is far from your assessment of being "bit ho-hum"... I really enjoyed it!

This shows my age, but it kinda reminds me of an old Gordon Lightfoot style. Very well produced, kinda sticks in your head!!

My dear 'Ezekiel's Storm'... Your music is about as 'ho-hum' as your lyrics are...and they just happen to be as thoughtful and time-stilling as a memory that just won't die. There seems be a veritable explosion of excellent lyric writing on this forum, and you are one of the reasons why I make that statement: "Emerald eyes and autumn hair...""Waking up to shadowed beams..." These are gorgeously imaginative lines that describe deep and alternately tender/wounded feelings, nestled as they are in and amongst the rest of the words in the song that set such a palpable mood of love, but lost. As you sang your bittersweet song, I couldn't help but revel in the thought of how well you communicated what was in your heart. I think an audience would not be likely to chat or talk while you performed, because of the quiet intensity with which you tell your sad story. Structually speaking, the way you ended the song was ingeniously dramatic, the abrupt silence leaving a trembling hole in the air that shouted out the size of your loss. The Real Tracks under your direction were ideal purveyors of the mood suggested by your lyrics. Think I'll start an 'Ezekiel's Storm' fan club, now... !!! LOREN

Hello Scott / Ezekiel,
I'm afraid I can only repeat what others wrote in the above posts. A very strong, but also sensitive voice, very very suitable for these kind of songs. And the song itself is also strong in it's performance, while the melody is a nice mix of sweet / melancholic and strong (I hope you understand what I mean). It makes me longue for more verses, but all was already said. And then the song end suddenly. No real outro or whatever. To me it looks like that symbolized what happend. So I liked it very much!

Hi Scott,
"Thinking of You" sounds really great.
This type of sound and this style of music is where my heart lies. As I listened to you, I was reminded of Bobby Goldsboro. He's one of my all-time favourite singers and writers.
I didn't think critically at all as I listened to your singing and BIAB's backing. I simply relaxed into my headphones, sat back with closed eyes and enjoyed. It was a musical pleasure.
All the best, Noel
