I do identify with this song. I am 67 years old, and feel like I'm 97. I'm facing neck surgery in January, and will be out of commission for a few months or so. I love the song, keep me in your prayers!!

when aging + dealing with illness, sometimes all you can do is either laugh or cry - and this song helps to laugh instead of cry

Gary,
where are you from? Sounds like an Australian voice though it could be a Nu Zilund accent as well - that ones hard to detect in song.
The blues is cool - senior shuffle is always a good place for a laugh.
The vocals are pretty good, there's almost no sibilance and no age whistle.
Good one.

Cheers

Don't laugh this could be YOU in the future. Hell this is me now!

I love the blues and you nailed this! I liked your style and your mix. Your vocal is very strong.

This 73 year old fart loves this one!

Great sounding blues, BIAB really covers that genre well and you fit in just right. I got neck fusion coming up in early 2020, welcome to the club. Hope they do us right. Keep playing the blues, it keeps you young!

Greetings from 'over the ditch " rayc,

I am a born and bred and proud New Zealander.
I noted you said I had " almost no sibilance "
Thank God for that, what ever it is I don't think there is a cure for it.

Stay safe over there,
Gazza

Greetings Deryk-PG Music,

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and listen to my song.It is much appreciated.
I didn't start writing songs until I was 68yo.
I woke up one morning and wanted to write a song.
Now I can't stop. I have written over 30 songs in the last 10 years.
Geriatric Blues was written in September 2018.
All the songs I have written have topics and they are all in different genres. They have all been arranged using my BIAB program.
I have very limited knowledge of both music and operating my BIAB program.
I have not done anything with my songs.
I don't know where to start.

Cheers,
Gary Thom

Hi Gazza,

if I'm not all wrong in this forum us old farts are overrepresented to a high degree ;-))) So we all know exactly what you're singing about. Great lyrics, great blues, great vocals - I really love that tune a lot.

Not laughing, just moaning a bit as I move my chair ;-)))

Take care,

Stefan

PS: Had a song / video posted here last year that deals with the same subject:
Nothing's Easy Anymore
