HEllo getting crazy with some tools. BIAB is fantastic in musical terms but ...Too many bugs and errors. the track names to choose wher to copy or move a track (from a MIDI imported file) are not correct and also the "Merge with exisiting data" does not work properly. If not ticked, it does not erase the target track before.
I am trying to use MIDI imported files and handle it but Getting crazy with so many bugs, malfunctions and closes/freezes of the app.
Yes, Custom Track Label Names were added a few years ago, but I think there are legacy items that still refer to the basic (original) fixed track names. You can set your own from Options > Preferences, but there still may be some that still use the original naming convention.

Hi VideoTrack, thanks for the reply but that´s not the matter. THe key point is that once you start to use the options, windows, change a few parameters, or anything inside the application, it becomes unoperative, bugs, and freezes all the time. It is very risky to operate anything but the basic chords entering and lees more. Not stable at all. Playing with midi tracks is a nighmare.
I like it but it is nothing reliable.

What exactly are your issues? What are your computer specifications? What are you using for an Audio Interface, i.e. sound card? What are your samples rates and buffer settings? The more information you can give us the more likely we can help.
Note that when I work with music programs I disable my Ethernet card, anti-virus, anti-malware and anything else that may be running in the background. Also note that I do not have the latest BiaB program yet, i.e. it is in the mail!

I just tried moving a channel from a multichannel MIDI file on the Melody track to the Strings track and it worked fine for me.
One the problems you are experiencing might be due to the fact that the "Copy/move" option you are using uses the old track names in BIAB.
In the old naming system, the image below shows track names using the old naming system.
Those settings that Videotrack showed above... I always click them off because I like to use the old names. These names stay constant and do not change.
