I wonder if anyone has used both band in a box with Captains plugins
Im not a pro songwriter and what i have been doing lately is using royalty free music packs with vocals to figure out the chord progressions via chord wizard or midi import of the song kits in these royalty free packs and then using band in a box to add an extra layer by generating additional backing tracks for my mix to have a lot more options then just using the included midi/wave files of a given sample pack construction kit however would be nice to have a bit more variation
has anyone used Captains plugins and band in a box (i think you will need a separate daw) but say you use Captain Chords to create a chord structure and then enter that into band in a box
update: well went ahead and got it..should get the audiophile 2020 edition tomorrow so will see how it goes!
and mix and match sounds like it would go well together (again more then likely needing to use a separate daw but.. i end up doing that anyways as i generally export each track out so i can mix /arrange it how i want :-)
since the whole foundation of band in a box is chord based..seems like they would go well together :-)

Hi Evenios, I've just had a look at the Captains plugins. To me, they look like an alternative to BIAB in that they are used to create instrumental backings using MIDI. BIAB does exactly this as well as create instrumental backings using audio. I can't say whether Captains plugins would work in BIAB. That said, I reckon that the best place to get the most out of the combination of Captains plugins and BIAB would be the DAW environment. By using BIAB VST and Captains plugins in a DAW, you'd be able to mix and match the tracks produced by each of them. Regards, Noel
