I just got BIAB 2020 (update). The DAW plugin is working fine in Cubase as long as I leave the tracks there, but when I try to drag and drop them into Cubase it freezes and I have to reboot. Using export and import seems more reliable than the plugin, any suggestions?

I'm halfway there - got single tracks to drag and drop by changing Cubase Import Settings to "use settings" so that there's no dialogue box when dragging.
But the drag master/all tracks still causes Cubase to hang, when the dialogue box asks if they should be on one track or different tracks. There doesn't seem to be a way around that dialogue box, so master track drag 'n drop causes a freeze every time.
Has anyone else encountered this?

Each DAW has its own issue with this complex plugin. I use Studio one and it has a problem when trying to use the real chart midi data from the charted drum tracks. This same feature works great in Reaper.
My point is that be patient and hopefully very soon the developers will find a fix for that issue. They do listen and respond.

Not sure about cubase but maybe try holding control key down when dragging the tracks. In Ableton that puts them on separate tracks
