On my 2012 version of BIAB, when I was auditioning styles from the style picker, then went to the main chord page to play it, when I returned to the style picker it would be at the style I just tried so that I knew how far I'd got down the list. Now when I return to the Style Picker it defaults to the top everytime which is incredibly annoying and slow.
In 'Preferences' there is a tick box labelled "Style picker defaults to current style" but it doesn't make any difference whether it's ticked or not.
Yes that drives me bonkers too. I like to know where I'm up to when I'm searching for styles.
If my brain is working properly, I think the setting you need is the one below. It's found in Stylepicker, underneath the list of styles. You will probably need to have the one in Preferences active as well as this one. (I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing or if they are two different things.)
Unfortunately, my 'stylepicker' window doesn't look that that anymore and I don't have that option. And like I said, the one in 'options' doesn't seem to make any difference, though I'm guessing it should and probably replaces the one on your screen.
So yes, I think we are talking about the same thing. Maybe I have a glitch.
Hmm.... I took that image from the 2012 manual because you mentioned 2012 in your original post.
Is it possible that you might have a later version of the program? It should show up when you start it or if you have a look under "Help | About Band In A Box".
My apologies, the confusion is entirely my fault. I meant to write:

Guess I was thinking too far ahead of my typing. So yes, I have the current version which doesn't have that option in style picker and is not doing what my old version did.
Hahahaha... that helps. It's nice to know that I'm not alone when it comes to trying to sync typing fingers and brain waves! Some days are better than others for me.

In Stylepicker...
1. Select "Actions"
2. Select "Set Dialog Options"
3. Set "Show current style..." to ALWAYS
As mentioned before, make sure that in 'Preferences' the option "Style picker defaults to current style" is active.
