This was just for fun. I was playing with the 2020 version of BiaB and let it do all the work. I did change the midi tracks to real tracks. But, other than some volume settings, this is all BiaB. Beginning to make me wonder if a real musician is needed anymore!?!

Interested AI tune. There're some clunks between one sax tone and another but nothing #5 couldn't adapt to.

Hi wrayer,

you're right - BIAB is an absolutely amazing software.

And your (very nice!) SAXY BLUES is living proof: You could hear it somewhere, not even in the background, and you wouldn't know it's software-made.

Regards,

Stefan

Pretty darn cool! I give a lot of credit to the BIAB software, but I also believe a lot of credit goes to the chord progressions you selected. BIAB clearly knows a bit of music theory, so it makes "safe" choices, but it's definitely got a hint of flair in there too. I think you were able to corral it into some very good choices. Fun stuff!

Yes, it's scary-good sometimes. laugh

But... you can make it even better with some intervention. For example, the riff at 0:26 doesn't really fit in with what happened before it. At at 2:00, there's a similar jump. At 2:16, it sounds like two different ideas are spliced together.

It's sort of like generating poetry with a Markov chain - at the micro level, it works, but there's little connectivity once you move from sentence to sentence.

But if you took that into a DAW and edited it so phrases repeated, and enforced some structure on it?

Add a little human intelligence to that AI, and you've got some even sweeter music. wink

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Nice experiment William...
I think it showcases the abilities of Biab very well.

I just wanted to find out what BiaB can do on its own. The future is hear and as a practicing musician, it sometimes scares me. Isee see hints of the "Star Wars" Cantina! ;-)

I enjoyed my listen - really smooth, and definitely doesn't sound software-generated. A bit clunky at points like rayc mentioned, but overall a solid tune.

Thanks for sharing smile
