This is a country song about a picker who played on the Grand Ole Opry in the glory days. We used BIAB for the backing rythyms , my guitars , and vocal. Enjoy

Howdy Cliff!

Oh yeah ... great song and listen! That harmony is fantastic ... so much like the raw but perfect harmony of so many of the early country tunes. Totally loved my listen. Really nice! Best to you ...

THanks Al, tried to get that period feeling, they would never allow drums back then HA, but, I think it got that sound.

What a tune! I enjoyed my listen. Loved the harmonies, and thought the groove on this made it flow perfectly. A rock solid classic country tune.

Thanks for sharing smile

Well, that was a delight - so much to like about this laid-back song.

An excellent write - conversational, engaging, and a good story.

Well sung - easygoing and expressive, with a nice arrangement fit and enhanced the lyric. The "staggered" harmony was a clever touch.

And nice guitar playing. smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Dear 'cliftond'...

Your song, All Good Pickers, has a sadness to it that is also sweet, like the dearly-loved memory you croon about so convincingly while acknowledging that it's part of a past that becomes evermore distant with each passing minute.

I like the simplicity of the instrumentation, as it opens your singing voice to our ears so fully that the instruments sound like they're hushing themselves for your sake.

I sat still in a state of quiet appreciation and pleasure after the song ended because it seemed to command that kind of response, kind'a like the way you listen to the wail of freight train's horn as it fades away in the distance...

Well done.

A great capture of the sound of that period.

Lot of good soul in the write and vocals.

And for us it we don't hear the soul (in any genre)
we quickly move on.

Nice pickin'!

Enjoyed it.

Hi Cliff,

This was a pleasure listening at.
The composition is nice and when you sing together it strengthens the song.
I only missed the pedal steel... (don't take me too serious on this one).

Hi Cliff and Corey,

This as a great listen.

I love the way that the lyrics and music flow and the way that you two presented it.

There's no two ways about it, this is authentic, old-time country music... the best there is!

All the best,
Noel
