Hi critter,
Not as a straightforward process. You could use a synth and record the midi playing the synth. Then you could use the resulting audio file to make a User track.

Is a User Track the same thing as a Realtrack?
Critter was asking about Realtracks but you mentioned User track.

Critter was asking about Realtracks but you mentioned User track.
Almost and for all practical purposes, yes. The same as RealTracks, User Tracks are recorded audio that have been recorded to work with the algorithms used by BIAB to search and select specific audio of a specific riff or strum or note pattern that correctly plays over a specific chord or chord progression and tempo but that will also correctly respond to changes in key signature and tempo within a range. Neal correctly stated that a User Track created from an audio render of a midi track could be effectively used to work with any style. A WAV file saved and the audio imported back into the project would be specific to the project would also work without having been processed through the additional procedures to make that audio an actual User Track.

So to get this straight, user tracks are just audio snippets placed in an existing Style. the are not Styles per se with an extension of .STY
Correct. They are audio tracks that can be added into and used in styles. PGMusic provides templates that a user plays to and records specific patterns or riffs over several different chord progressions and the sgu file, wav and other data are saved into a folder that BIAB recognizes and can access the audio searching and selecting from the user track audio clips that play over any chord chart in any key and tempo the same as RealTracks do. That's the theory and intent anyway. Additional files can be added to the User Track folder to provide more material to select from as well as adding intros and endings. There were issues in the past with shots, holds and rests and I don't know if that has been sorted out or not.
