Hallo zusammen,

Hello Zita, Have you tried asking in the German language forum +++ HERE +++?

Per Google Translate:
Quote:
Hello everybody,
How can I enter repetitions in the melody?
I have entered a repetition from bar 9 to bar 12 in the chordsheet.
In the notation window, I would like to repeat measures 9 to 12 for the melody, so do not enter the melody twice.
Also when printing the lead sheet I would like to have the repetition characters and not bars 9 to 12 twice in succession.
Can someone help here?
Thank you in advance and best regards

Unfortunately I don't print chord sheets so if someone can answer the question.

Hallo Zita,

Translation, with thanks to Google:
Hello Brille,
First of all thank you for your answer and the reference to the German forum (I will take this into account in my next posts).
You understood my problem correctly. I checked again to see if I had the settings as you suggested. I have it that way and everything works in the chordsheet (classic double bars and two dots as a repeat symbol) and if I change the settings, the repetition is "resolved" and the corresponding measures are displayed twice in succession.
When the piece is played, the bar currently being played is stored in the chord sheet, and when it is repeated, the bars within the repeat characters are stored twice in succession. So here in the chordsheet everything is as I expect it to be.
However, the classic two dots do not appear in the notation window, only the double bar is displayed. And the bars within the repetition are displayed twice in a row, so I have more bars here than in the chord sheet. Even when the piece is played, the notes within the double lines are not repeated, but the notes in the bars after the second double line are played.
Unfortunately I can't get any further here. I can enter the melody twice in a row, then the playing of the piece is correct, but I would like the classic representation of the repetition characters in the lead sheet when printing.
Nevertheless, of course, many thanks and best regards

Hello, Zita,
I've never noticed this behaviour before, but you're right, I can see that now. After entering a repeat range in the Chord View, the accompaniment is repeated, but not the melody in the notation window. There are double bar lines in the notation window (without colons), but after that the bars to be repeated are displayed again, without the melody. When playing, the cursor just runs once through the repetition. This is actually illogical and not correct. Can anyone or the technical support confirm this?

Hallo Zita,

English: I'd like to have a standard display of repeat signs in the Lead Sheet (and) in the printout.

Answer: Just check the Fake Sheet Mode option in the Lead Sheet Window and you'll be all set.

Hi Martin,
thank you for your tip.
You're right, this works in the leadsheet. smile
But in the NOTATION window I have to type the notes of the melody twice (or copy the notes).
Otherwise there is no melody in the second repeating when playing the song. Right?

Hi Zita,

The Notation window does not support repeat signs.

The current repeats business entails quite some rigmarole with BiaB. To have some originally not repeated bars in some already existing song repeated, it would be good to issue a simple repeat command over some selected bars – alas that approach leads to quite some confusion. Either some notes get deleted or some bars have multiple notes, viz. original notes plus some copied notes.

In order to wind up with a usable Lead Sheet the user needs first to 'insert' some appropriate number of bars and then copy/paste those bars that shall get repeated. If the Fake Sheet Mode is active the Lead Sheet Window displays and plays the intended song form perfectly with repeat signs.

Hi Martin,
thanks a lot.
Ok, I already have suspected that the Notation window does not support repeatings, but I had hoped that there is any feature I don't have found out not just yet (I'm very new with BiaB).
Of course this practice ist not very comfortable but will be the only way to reach my target.
