I imported a midi file from Musescore into BIAB as the melody line. In Musescore the instrument was a flute which carried over into BIAB. For the song itself I don't care because that track is muted for most of the song.
But, I have an instrumental part in the song that plays part of the melody so I unmuted it for those measures. However, I don't want a flute playing I want some bells.
Is it possible to change the instrument? The style is POP_3_4.STY. The mixer shows vibes but it plays a flute and I'd like to change it to a bell sound.
Yes F5 bar settings , will allow you to select another patch at any bar on any midi track. The new voice will stay in force until you change it again, so to change back some bars later just F5 and set back to normal Mike

Does your imported MIDI have program changes in it? If so, maybe you could change those to the desired program changes before importing. Just another option. MIDI brings weird data in sometimes, and then trying to just add to it or override it can have it's own issues.
The part where you said "The mixer shows vibes but it plays a flute" makes me think some patch or program change was in the MIDI you imported. I could be wrong, but if you know how to edit MIDI you may be able to import a MIDI file with the desired sound to begin with.

Thanks for the help. I discovered the Event List editor and found that the flute was imported so I changed it to the desired instrument, muted it until it reached the measures where I wanted it to play and then unmuted it. Thanks again for the support.
