Hello,
My midi interface which was doing well up to now (installed last September to my new Win 10 laptop) has "just disapeared" (!) and is no longer there where it should be, that is in the Midi/Audio driver set up...
When checking under the hardware manager, I see that the midi interface is still there all right under the Audio Video and game controller file and "reports" no problem. Of course, I have no touched any cable connections on my set up (why should I have done this since the set up was working ok..)
How do I hold back my midi interface within the BiaB Midi Audio driver set up? Thanks for all clues. Bernard

I assume you are referring to you Audio/Midi Drivers. From my experience it is not unusual for these to "disappear" despite the fact that they still are found in hardware manager. I have always blamed this on Win 10 upgrades. Simple fix - generally, just reinstall them. BIAB should find them once they are re-installed and system is restarted. Good Luck.

OK, thanks for the tip... How do I do that now?
After having bought my new (proud, proud!) Win 10 computer, I had to buy a new Midi interface because the old one was not working anymore... So this midi interface is relatively new (I bought it in Sep 2019)and it has (as far as I know) no driver in the packing. It is a "plug and play" interface. So I tried to plug it out and in again, but it seems that BiaB "doesnt care". No effect. How can I revive it? Bernard

OK, ok after different tries to plug and unplug, BiaB has "found" my midi interface back and everything works fine again (until next time!). Thanks again for your help... As I experienced it when somebody tries to help, answering a query and even if a solution is not find at once, it triggers you to carry on and most of the time the lights comes in the end! Bernard

Did you get a good interface? John, I have a Roland Octa-Capture audio interface and if you look it up you will find that it is a very good but expensive audio interface. However after a couple of Win 10 updates I had to unplug it and plug it back in for Windows to find it. It also is a plug and play unit. Thus it is an update thing and not an interface thing. Note that the last few updates, even the major 1909 update, this has not happened. Hopefully the problem is solved but with Windows you never know!
The bumper sticker said "I'm a veterinarian, therefore I can drive like an animal". Suddenly I realized how many proctologists are on the road.

Sorry, cannot tell, I bought it in my next Music shop and there was only one to choose from... Of course I do not find the package box and I do not want to unplug it now (and see if there is a brand name on it)so that BiaB has an opportunity to strike again... I do not think there are quality differences, but rather it works or it does not work... Bernard

I think it is vital to ensure you have the audio interface and everything plugged into it turned on when doing a Windows Update. Not only Audio interfaces but other stuff that requires the updates to update drivers.
I would when doing an update ensure my midi controller is also plugged in. When I had a printer connected directly to the PC I also ensured it was plugged in and turned on.
I have had issues some years back but only if I left stuff off. On my main PC I have a Rolland Quadcapture. Off memory I lost it once and deleted the driver and it came back no worries.
That has been my experience. Tony
