I recently purchased Ableton Live Standard with the Push 2 midi controller and it has become my new favorite DAW for making music. If you don't know what Ableton Live is it is a DAW that focuses primarily one create electronic music of all genres from house, drum and bass, techno, tech house, dubstep, and more. All of the instruments that come inside Ableton are synths and electronic drums. It's really fun to make music.

This is why there is no ‘best’ DAW. Each person has different requirements. Glad you’ve found one that meets yours.

There are a lot of musicians that use Ableton Live to play backing tracks during performance. It is said to be very versatile at changing song arrangements on the fly so songs can be shortened or lengthened to suit the feel of the audience.

This is why there is no ‘best’ DAW. Each person has different requirements. Glad you’ve found one that meets yours. There you go OP. The "best" DAW is one that suits your creative needs, work flow and having a GUI that's intuitive and easy to navigate from your personal perspective. Carry on....

I have recently purchased a Alesis VI25 controller and with it came the Ableton Lite Live which I am now trying to find my way around to see what I can do with it. Being part of a two person combo and trying to create background arrangements to fill in our live performances, is what I'm looking to accomplish.
