Been over three weeks. He said "it's time for me to finally leave" and he did. It was a quite exit, not like others who come to a boil and then explode. So I am glad I let him know how much I appreciated his input while he was with us. He sure could stir the pot at times and was a creative whirlwind. Many times I didn't really know what he was talking about, but then I would see some of his handy work and had to get me some. But I get it, when it ain't fun anymore it is time to leave. Maybe he just needed a rest, or maybe we will see him again over in other forums. Never the less, I didn't want his absence to go unnoticed.

Sorry, I was totally confused. I thought that either someone hacked your forum account or you had passed away and someone was trying to tell us about it.

I'm pretty new here (a little more than three weeks), so I guess I just missed this legendary longtime forum user.
Care to fill a young greenhorn in on this mythical man?

Care to fill a young greenhorn in on this mythical man? I would have though the Management at PG would have given you guys a holiday. Just jokin, ...but, you didn't notice it has gotten a bit quieter here in the forum in the past three weeks? Like someone turned the volume down.

The good ones often get burned out here. They care. They try to help PGM. They help many of us customers. They hope. But they finally get tired of the same old story.

I'm disappointed too, both for him and us. He worked tirelessly, kept people on their toes, and boy could he ever deliver the goods. Hopefully he'll watch an Arnie movie and announce "I'll be back..." He would certainly be welcomed, big time.

Hey guys I just ran into him over in another of my haunts on the web. Looks like he is doing well and apparently has some new project work going with a new website to hawk his wares.

Hey guys I just ran into him over in another of my haunts on the web. Looks like he is doing well and apparently has some new project work going with a new website to hawk his wares. Nuts, I was hoping that he was working on his version of BiaB. His version using PGMusic's styles would be a killer combination.

I really hope he comes back. Kinda sad to admit but I've gotten far better product support from him than any official source.
One time I had my song perfect and frozen but I wanted to change the guitar solo from standard to DI so I could apply my own fx. The problem was to do this would mean unfreezing and losing my solo! I didn't wanna do that and spend hours futzing around in Realband trying to get it back!
No one here had any clue as to how this might be done. But he gave me a simple step-by-step procedure for moving RealTrack folders around (temporarily) and that totally worked to save my solo!
I never understood how he knew all that stuff but I sure did appreciate that he did and that he was willing to share it with the rest if us!

Guys, please... do not sing a mourning song. Mr.Pipeline is probably taking a break... as many people in this strange time. I had seen that new updates (715+717) had many enhancements and fixes for the plugin. I am sure Pipeline is aware of it and somewhat satisfied that work is being done on the plug. Just recharging batteries. He helped me personally on several tricky occasions. Let the man take (unpaid) vacation from all of us! I have myself not posted anything on the forum for weeks. Partially because of shock and partially because of many other things that I had to take care of, which were not on my normal daily schedule. I am thinking... the end of the year will bring some financial challenges to a lot of people. Usually when economy dips, businesses strive hard to make a sale. Commonly it is expressed as a product price drop or "other" benefits. I can not complain about the price, to me, BIAB is worth every penny, but I think it is perfect time for PG to bring some innovations and long asked features to the table to keep most followers in the loop, including Pipeline Thankfully PG team can work remotely, and I am happy for them!

Is the forum now on some kind of double secret probation? Have I gone back to 50's high school? Yea I know, as did most here, who you mean and yes he contributes(ed) a lot of really excellent stuff. But after almost 60 years in work force - 21 in the service and the rest in industry here's what I've learned: NO ONE is indispensable.
No offense to him but a lot of us were using BIAB, some even productively if you can believe that, long before he was here and most of us will continue to do so. Obviously it would be better with him here, contributing, but nonetheless we will plod along in our ignorant and Neanderthal ways in any case. Of course, it would also be better if Mac and many others were here, but they are also not here and haven't been for many years.
If and when he comes up with a better mousetrap I’ll be first in line to buy it - just send me the link!
================ NOW for the entertainment part of the show =================
It would be great if that better mousetrap ALSO meets the current up to date WCPS (whine catalog of palladium standards) set here by more than a few, that phrase "more than a few" in modern terms seems to be equivalent to "an overwhelming majority:"
This application has to do everything I WANT (no exceptions); does it the way I THINK it should be done (in spite of not being on the design team); is 100% user configurable in all aspects (GUI and operations); is completely ERROR free on all platforms and all platform configurations; works with all other music applications and DAW's (free or licensed) in all OS’s; is fully cross platform and cross application implemented; with all bells and whistles of all other similar, and dissimilar, programs; meets all those conditions and is released for most OS’s (Win, MacOS, Linux - all flavors, Android – all flavors, iOS - all, Chrome, Free BSD, what the heck ...Fedora); is released in all major, and most minor, world languages, with full up-to-date indexed and searchable documentation in those languages - at release.
Also has a small memory footprint, is small to download, opens and begins functioning in a few milliseconds is not licensed and doesn't need to be activated and never needs web connectivity. Finally needs to be fully future proofed for all the above (OS's, platforms, standards [e.g., VST implementations, all HW and SW protocols and interfaces, even unknown but future bus protocols])
May as well discuss MSRP: since everyone in music everywhere will want this then no reason unit retail cost should be more than say ~$100 with free updates. However, not sure why any updates are needed, by definition it already does all, sees all, and knows all on release, so why would any updates ever be needed? But if God forbid an update is ever needed, for any reason, then it should be completed and released same day (it's just a few lines of code).
Heck I’ll even pay twice that much, I'll pay $200 in "then" dollars. Larry
BTW just because no one comes to someones rescue does not necessarily mean all were clueless, might mean something else or it might mean nothing at all.

Larry, wow, that was deep I will respond to couple of your points: "NO ONE is indispensable" I completely disagree with that statement. Talented people are, and especially the ones who offer their knowledge free of charge. Remember Sergio - User Tracks?... I wish there was several Pipeline(s) around here. And Sergio(s), who sadly I got to know after he left. Thankfully Sergio was nice beyond this forum and I was able to acquire most of his work. ---- About your "entertainment part of the show" No bashing was intended from me. This is my logic: I am guessing here, but it just might be so, that this year there will be slimmer choice of RT material due to virus situation (studio time). In my opinion, it is good opportunity to balance things by re-visiting a few "BIG" requests that many people agree on. Perhaps these BIG things will encourage folks to support PGmusic in difficult time, who otherwise would be inclined to "wait it out"... and give food for thought to someone like Pipeline

I read an interesting response in a previous comment a little above, and completely agree with the separate response immediately above this one.
I don't believe there was any suggestion ever of any person being indispensable. If I'm wrong, please clarify and point me to the remark. I'll immediately correct/retract this statement.
However, I believe the O/P's thread was genuinely directed to identify recognition that a member has contributed significantly, and that worthiness was being identified. It would be hard, if not impossible, to argue that point in my opinion.
The suggestion of 'indispensable' was never mentioned. I don't understand how that came to be such a strong focus of that response.
(PS: Maybe our home quarantine is getting to us. Lighten up all. Bigger fish to try and all that stuff...) Stay safe, everyone.
