Hi,
I have not tried it yet, but would like to know, if I add automation to a track, and the track has been saved, will the automation remain with the track when I drop in into the drop station as a wav, to subsequently be imported into my DAW or will I have to recreate the automation in the DAW.
Appreciate the assistance.
H

HI Just a thought, If you render the track to a wave file it will have the automation effects already embedded in the rendered wave. You can then use that in your Daw. You wont be able to access the automation track nodes for further editing of course, as it will no longer exist as a control track.

Howard, is this a RealBand question?
Just to be clear, automation means to me that you use a mixer to record the motion of faders on a mixing console. When you play back the song, the changes in faders are played back too. Are we talking the same thing? BIAB does not support this; it would normally be done in a DAW that uses a control surface.
BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Roland Integra-7, Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

The resulting wav will likely reflect the automation from the original. But only as audio.
If you made the automation cause a drop in volume, it should show in the resulting wave file at the same point. But the automation itself (and any further editing aspects) will likely not be in the imported file, from my experience.

Yes, but Realband does allow you to enter automation vol nodes after the event to a track. By drawing them in. This is what I was assuming was the case here. Mike

Yes it is a Realband topic. And yes Mike you have it right. RB does allow automation. I will try different things and see if any give me the result I am looking for. I think the rendering may be the best option but I will hold off until I try it.
Thanks H

And of course, in addition to the volume node method, Realband will record fader moves in real time and display the moving faders on playback. (You can record FX sends as well.)
This doesn't alter the fact that the fader moves will still just become part of the track dynamics after rendering.
