If you are on Facebook, you need to join the PG music pages there. Henry is very active in most of them.
Look up:
Band In A Box Music Anytime
Band In A Box User group
Band in A Box live performers group
Band in A box by PG music
I run the first group and it's got a lot of music from folks that are NOT in this forum on it. It's a BIG BIG world out there. Joanne runs the second group, and Pat Marr is admin of the live performers group, and I'm also a moderator in this group... and of course the PG group.
Come in and join the groups and meet tons of other seriously talented folks.

I had not heard of him on the forums before. Some folks talked about his YouTube videos and then he was added here: NEW Band-in-a-Box® Video Testimonial: Henry Clarke

Sorry... Henry is a really talented guy who does cover songs and isn't in this forum. He is, however, active in the facebook BB forums with his songs and instructional videos.
What I was saying is there is a huge number of amazingly talented users of the PG products that never show up in this forum site. If you want to expand your horizons a bit, come sign in and request to join the above listed groups on FB.

Interesting video. I bet you Henry would change his workflow if Peter G. opens mixer to 16 channels in BIAB for us (as with most hardware/software arrangers).
Henry's workflow is very similar to mine, but Asio interfaces do not play well with 2 audio programs (BIAB+DAW) for me. So in addition of re-saving the project to audition new RT's and not lose previous generations I would close out of BIAB, open DAW to import WAVs, audition whole thing,...if something needs to be changed, again closing out of DAW, opening BIAB and so on. Vicious circle. Peter hinted that it is possible to have more tracks. I sincerely hope it will materialize.
P.S.This is actually my single biggest request on BIAB... to have 16 available tracks in the mixer. Too bad Henry is not on the forum, I am sure he would have supported the wish.

If you like Motown, Soul and R&B music it's hard not to like Henry Clarke's music. I'm most impressed by his obvious enthusiasm for music. I want to make a song every time I watch one of his videos.
I don't think Mr. Clarke posts to this forum. He says in his testimonial video he has used Band-in-a-Box for about ten years. There are other people that use Band-in-a-Box to make YouTube music videos that I've never recognized on this forum.
I also belong to a few other music related forums where I run into people that use Band-in-a-Box but do not participate in this forum. There appears to be a lot more people using Band-in-a-Box than you would think if you are judging strictly by how many active members there are in this forum.
Steinburg's original ASIO specification did not support device sharing among programs. Device sharing opens a large can of worms because every program has a different way of acquiring the driver, monitoring the driver in-use status and releasing the driver. None of that is specified in the ASIO specification. Even Steinburg products like Cubase, Nuendo and Wavelab have trouble implementing device sharing among themselves.
A rule of thumb some people find handy is to reserve ASIO driver use for recording purposes and use MME, DirectAudio or WASPI for mixing and mastering. Since most people don't record, mix and master in the same program and at the same time, it's a pretty easy way to set it and forget it; at least until the next Windows update resets everything!
Latency is not as much of a concern while mixing or mastering because you're not having to hear or match new (recorded) content with existing recorded content on the project timeline. That is why many program have duplicate audio buffer settings for recording and playback.

Jim’s explanation about ASIO is exactly right and well stated.
ASIO drivers that support multiple devices are beginning to be used more frequently, but using MME for BIAB is generally a safe choice.
I’ve noticed that the timing between MIDI and audio tracks in BIAB needs to be adjusted when I change the audio driver, so I tend not to make that change unless I have a very good reason, like recording a keyboard in BIAB in real time. And since I’m not a keyboard player, that’s really rare!

Jim, Henry is great, no doubt. I specifically mentioned more mixer tracks request here, because it would do good to people like Henry (me, and whole bunch of people). Our method (of saving multiple copies of project in BIAB ->Cakewalk) are very close. I do not use social media, except for couple of forums. I am sure there are many PG software users who are not here.
Unlike the aim of "production".... where you can make a load and a little basket of "regenerations" and do all kind of surgeries, I prefer just simply listen and try variations one by one (similar to Henry). If more mixer tracks happen, that would solve the issue of transplanting RT's to DAW before due date, copying the project over and over again just to keep minor changes. Making it possible to audition and compare tracks side by side in the content of arrangement / freeze tracks on the fly and many other good things, like use extra RT tracks for elements, which Henry talks about. I am not saying it is not possible to achieve with a "workaround", I am saying it will make a lot more room for creative part of the process.
Matt: " but using MME for BIAB is generally a safe choice." Well, I feel it would be a downgrade when using interface(s) specifically designed to be used as ASIO devices. In my experience most of the time when I try to push Wasapi (shared or exclusive) or MME driver onto ASIO card, I get nothing but headache. Just doesn't work right.

I don't think they could be a viable company if the sales count didn't extend way, way beyond the number of active forum members! I still like forums because topics stay active vis-a-vis facebook where they can disappear in a few hours or minutes. But I've no doubt the vast majority of PG Music's customers spend much more time on social media than on forums (if at all). My other interests in cycling, hiking and history have rapidly moved from forums to social media. Having blathered all that I will check out the aforementioned fb sites as I am an active member. Bud

Thanks for the "heads up" Herb, I just joined all of the groups. One can never learn enough about BIAB (and there is always something to learn)!

Like you I prefer to listen to tracks in context. Where we differ is in what tool we use to create our multiple track versions. You prefer to create versions in Band-in-a-Box and I prefer to use the plugin. Both ways are a workflow process and both are valid.
Bud,
Like you and some others have mentioned, I prefer forums over Facebook. However, the choice becomes more difficult since several forums I use to visit closed their server and migrated to Facebook. The Facebook population continues to grow and the Facebook universe expands. PG Music has one forum, Herb listed four Facebook groups that feature PG Music products.
