Hi all, I have a song with all tracks frozen because I want to keep it like it is, mostly, but there are related problems.
1) How to create an ending without destroying the frozen tracks due to new generation? Isn't it necessary unfreeze to make changes?
2) There is another version of the song and I like a couple of bars in it (also frozen to keep the bars in tact) and I want to copy two or three bars into the first version. Same question.
Is there a tutorial on this given that the song is a flat 87 bars long without choruses defined in the Song settings form?
I've been searching for an answer to editing frozen tracks without regeneration all day and found nothing specific. Maybe regeneration is necessary to blend in with the rest of the song. Any help would be welcome.

Yes you can Save the track as a Performance track then move it to the Audio track, enable Snap select the bars you don't like then right click Cut, then open another instance of Biab and do the same with a track you just made an ending for or another song.SGU with frozen tracks, you enable Snap in the Audio Edit window, highlight the bars you like, right click Copy. Then just paste that in the first instance. This doesn't directly answer your question, because it relates to RealBand not BiaB. But since you have the Windows version, you also have RealBand, and you can load the song into RealBand, select only those bars that you want to change, and generate only those bars. Then save it again as a BiaB song format and load it back into BiaB. This might be the quickest way to achieve your desired result.

It's easier to do in RealBand because it's more visual but the process is nearly identical if you use BIAB. Doing it in BIAB does not require opening two sessions of BIAB and you can retain both versions of the track. The audio editing is done using editing tools of the Audio Channel. Either way, the Performance Tracks will get you the results you want.
