Premise: I sometimes simply want to quickly check out the sound source of a given midi track without necessarily starting everything off in the whole song (let alone do any unnecessary renderings!). So here I thought I could just bring up the Big Piano and click on a few of its 'keys', which then would be in the sound of whatever track I had active - Not so! All I heard was a very generic piano sound, totally unrelated to the sound of my active track. Would thus be nice if this could be one of the functions that the BP interface could provide.

You should be able to get it to do that, make sure the audio is set to Always On in the driver settings. I haven't tried it on the Mac but I got it to work on the Win version.
Yeah nope, that's definitely not how it works (or even looks) on my Mac end.
So now I'm changing my humble "Request" to an absolute demand, thank you kindly PG, because ultimately the fundamental truth in what Mr. P said is this: I "should be able to get it to do that"!
