Same for me!

Les Paul and Mary Ford

Here are 3 more of my favorites from them.

This will sound tinny on a laptop. It's not. Wear headphones, it's worth the trouble.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNU5TVdErXk "Johnny Is The Boy For Me" I love Mary's voice. Sue me.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cgx90YpDqBo "Just One Of Those Things" Don't be a chump; wait for Les!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9eMwVGuPxg "The Best Things In Life Are Free" Again, jawdropping stuff from Les.

I listened to your "Sophisticats" 17 minute audio demo; I'd never done that before.

The stylistic breath of the maybe 50 (??) song fragments was staggering!!! It really is amazing that you two can
cover so many genres effectively.

Also, your wife's voice is really compelling (wonderful) on some of these, to the degree that on some I would not call them covers, so much as artistic re-interpretations.

Your play on the wind instruments is so good that in many cases I thought, "this sounds like the guy on the record (or even better)." Just fantastic tone!

I found myself wondering, "Who wouldn't hire these guys after hearing this?"

And to think that those are all snippets of un-doctored live performances. It's very impressive, Notes!

Granted it is from a different time than me - I never realized Les Paul and Mary Ford were husband and wife. My grandfather used to listen to them, it just never occurred to me.

The only modern example I can think of is The White Stripes. And, weren't members of ABBA married back in the day? Pretty sure they divorced, if so.

It goes back a little way, but Ike and Tina Turner were once part of that team.

Thank you for your kind words.

Until COVID, we've been steadily employed, mostly repeat business, and have had to block out time for vacations or else we wouldn't get one.

I make my own backing tracks, and many of them have Band-in-a-Box at the core. Some mostly BiaB (edited in a MIDI sequencer), some part BiaB (one or more instruments), and some with no BiaB parts (when there wasn't a compatible style -- yet).

Although I can do all my tracks 'from scratch' I find BiaB when appropriate to be a huge time saver.

Richard and Karen Carpenter, though only recognized in Arkansas...

(I am aware they were siblings. Same for Nino Tempo and April Stevens.)

The Captain and Tennille come to mind. Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme. Paul and Linda McCartney, but calling her a musician was pushing the envelope. She was the Lucy Ricardo to his Ricky. Same with John and Yoko. She was a wannabe.

And there were two couples in Fleetwood Mac. For a while. Mama Michelle Phillips and Papa John Phillips were married. Debbie Harry and Chris Stein in Blondie. Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz from both Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club. Gloria and Emilio Estefan. And I'm sure there are more in some indie bands nobody ever heard of.

Tuck & Patti at one time were married. I don’t know how popular beyond the west coast but after performing with other rock bands, they got together in 1988 as a duo.

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned Johnny Cash & June Carter-Cash, but I guess they weren't really a "band".

Same for George Jones and Tammy. Some memorable recordings came out of that one.
