Hello everyone! I've been away for about three years now, it's a long and boring story. I had BIAB 2018, but now have just upgraded to BIAB 2021.
I've not used the plug in version of BIAB in Sonar X3, nor in Cakewalk, but now that I have the updated version, I'd like to use it. Only, either I don't know what I'm doing, or something is seriously wrong.
Okay, in Sonar X3, I can load it as a Synth, but there is no display of the plug-in. When it asks about it, I tell it to load the Properties and other stuff that I think is required to see it, but it won't display anything. Then, if I try to click on anything, Sonar stops responding.
I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled both Sonar X3 and Cakewalk, by the way.
For Cakewalk, I can right click the panel, or use the + button to add the Instrument BIAB, but it just freezes up and doesn't do anything.
So, both programs do not appear to run the plug in. I'm sure it's not the plug-in, I'm pretty sure it's either me or the install of the DAWs that's screwing things up.
Oh, I've uninstalled both, as I said, and then just installed Cakewalk by BandLab and I still get the same results. Then, I uninstalled that, and just installed Sonar X3, and again, same results. So, I don't know what's happening.
Right now, my desktop doesn't work, so this is an i7 laptop, 1TB hard drive, 8 gigs of RAM and runs either BIAB or Sonar just fine, and I can drag and drop the files from one to another perfectly, but I want the plug in to work.
I'll take any suggestions anyone has, and all are appreciated.
TIA.
I'm blessed watching God do what He does best. I've had a few rough years, and I'm still not back to where I want to be, but I'm on the way and things are looking far better now than what they were!

One other thing, in Cakewalk by BandLab, I was able to pull up the TTS-1 plug in, and it seemed to operate properly, but BIAB does not.
I didn't try it in Sonar.

Gary, I have used it in cake by blab. Just open a instrument track and load it in that track. If you go to the video help page there is a video on cake and the plug. Go here and scroll down https://www.pgmusic.com/support.bbplugin.htm

Rob, I've watched the page. I do exactly as they say. Cakewalk locks up. Sonar locks up. I get nothing. I can run VST3, as .dll files, of course. I can load the SI Electric Piano, I can load sfz, I can even load an organ I downloaded. Band In A Box just causes everything to 'Not Responding.'
So, I have no clue. Uninstall BIAB and try again, I guess.

No need to uninstall try a restore to original settings.
Remember some, and actually most of the plugins in cakewalk products are DXi plugins so they are handled differently from VSTi which is a steinburg protocol.
Have you tried dragging the plugin directly to the track from the browser.

Gary when you drag the plugin from the browser area to the tracks area it opens a instrument track.
Next just to the left of the name band in a box on that instrument track is an icon that looks like a tiny keyboard. click that and the BiaB plugin will open

Well, Rob, that was one of the problems, every time I pushed that button, everything locked up. When it started doing the same thing in Tracktion Waveform, I knew the problem was in BIAB.
Apparently, my \BB folder is seriously messed up, and I don't know why.
What I did was I copied out the Real Tracks, Drums and some other stuff I had in there, Norton Music MIDI styles and stuff, and then deleted everything else, and reinstalled it. There was all sorts of weird stuff in there, old PowerTracks installs. This has been my directory for a very long time and several installs.
Anyway, I have it on my D drive, so everything was SUPPOSED to get installed the D:\bb folder, but half the program is installing to the D:\ drive in the root!
For now, it actually works properly, except when I went to put back the Drums and the Real Tracks, half of them, more than half of them, didn't show up. My Drums were completely gone, more than half my Real Tracks are AWOL, and I'm just beyond trying to download 50+ gigs of data.
Fortunately, I have a hard drive on the way, I hope it will be here Monday, and I REALLY hope that it has ALL the old Drums and Real Tracks on it, because I'm just going to do a complete, clean install of everything. Get what I need off of the D:\ drive, format it, and then reinstall everything when I get the hard drive.
