Hi,
BIAB 2021 introduced Utility Tracks, and a subsequent update expanded their capabilities before I even had checked them out.
So, what *is* really the difference between a Utility Track, and a regular track?

It's a ice cream with out cream.
In BiaB 2022 it will be the same.
In 2023 BiaB and RealBanb it will be one and only program

Not true. I speak as a user, yet exploring.
You can select, place and re- generate RealTracks on Utility tracks from picker. And they will follow chord sheet. Mute/unmute these to try out how they will work in specific parts.
If you change your chords, you have to regenerate Utility Tracks one by one, which I think might be solved soon. You can copy track(s) from legacy (original) mixer tracks to Utility tracks, freeing up their slots. Almost forgot, On user track you can regenerate just regions. Process is somewhat detached in my opinion. Hopefully with user feedback and a will of developers it can get automated.

There is however one big limitation for now. Utility tracks do not yet have ability to have "changes at the bar" and also if copied from the legacy track that did have these bar changes, it will not transfer them. I believe PG team mentioned, and that I think is the ultimate goal is to have these behave like other Real Tracks. Not sure if it will come soon or not, but first BIG step had been taken. Now, it is in hands of developers.
I believe there is ability to use MIDI on these, I just have not explored this option yet.

The utility track was built to move Style tracks to after generation. Recently the ability to generate a RT was added to the utility tracks so you can generate and edit a bunch of tracks. Later the utility tracks will be upgraded to include more Style track features now it only has some of them.
BiaB, and RB will never become one. RB is the result of adding BiaB features to Powertracks. That is not to say that RB, and BiaB will not continue to grow and develop. I am sure they will but look for a few new features each year, and a ton of new nice RealTracks, real drums, and now in the future other cool media to create with.
Don’t get to caught up in what isn’t to miss out on the fun of what is, and create some cool songs to share and enjoy. Rustyspoon is right these are a great first step, and more is coming on this feature.
