Hi guys, Hoping this isn't a repeat as I know you're busy. It would be great if a user's favorite styles could be recalled when a new version is installed. I run BIAB/RB Audophile from the external drive, so perhaps it's possible that if installed to Windows main drive, that the registry would retain this and similar preferences from one version to the next? Thanks!.
I have the Audiophile version. I've installed the mp3 (UltraPak equivalent) onto my computer's internal hard drive and the I have Favorite styles from past years present. They've survived all updates and upgrades. They've also survived "return to ALL factor settings".
In your \bb\Preferences folder, there's a file called StyleFavorites.TXT. Just copy this over to the \Preferences folder of your current version of BIAB.
Also, since it's a text file, I'm guessing that you can add Favorites from earlier versions of BIAB by opening the most recent StyleFavorites.TXT in Notepad and just copying and pasting from earlier StyleFavorites.TXT files. It maybe been necessary to sort alphabetically.
I was able to restore most of my missing favorites by opening old StyleFavorites.TXT files and copying missing ones into my latest StyleFavorites.TXT file. It worked and I have restored some favorites I had lost!
Thanks for the update. I'm pleased it worked so easily. I hadn't tried it because I just keep on installing over my previous copy and, as mentioned, my Favorites have remained intact. I'd seen this file before but never really paid any attention to it until Warren's post.
I was so disappointed when BIAB lost my favorites during one upgrade and I just thought I'd never get them back. Now I got almost 100 of them back!! Thanks again!
