I am looking for pro instrumental soloists who have used BIAB to make backing tracks for recording for commercial/public release. Either in contemporary jazz, pop, new age, or classical.
Wondering how well it has worked vs. other options such as something like Ableton production software.
Curioius, what your process is to use the technology to create what you want. I ask because I'm not entirely sure I hear the sound quality I'm looking for as I listen to the BIAB showcased tracks.
The only person I am aware of is solo violinist Ableton producer for Herbie Hancock, Kanye West, etc...Laura Escude.

I'm a pro jazz soloist and arranger. I use BIAB extensively and prepare composer demos with BIAB.
For the commercial recordings, I still record in a studio.
I'm on lots of CDs but the one in my name was done in 2006, before RealTracks. If I were to release a CD now, a poor idea given the current business model, I would certainly consider using some BIAB tracks in the finished product. But as I explained in your other thread, I would use LOTS of other software.
BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Slate VSX, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

Thanks again Matt. I've seen your posts before and (incorrectly) assumed you were a classical musician, based on your photo.
Anyway, I checked out some of your CD clips. Nice stuff.
To clarify, by commercial, I didn't mean CD. I meant good enough sound quality and production to put out on the Internet.
I have always played with live musicians, so this is all pretty new to me.
Was your 2006 CD recorded without any live musicians except for yourself?
What I am ultimately wondering how to do is perform/record without live musicians. I just don't have the resources to afford to pay for studio time and musicians.
It sounds like the best way to do that is getting multiple software/equipment.
Much appreciate your help.

"I ask because I'm not entirely sure I hear the sound quality I'm looking for as I listen to the BIAB showcased tracks." Most of them are not mixed up well, you should have no problem using them commercially if they are mixed up well.

He means mixed, not mixed up.
My CD was recorded with live players in several studios. I did write all the songs in BIAB and send everyone the music in advance. I do that with all recording projects and concerts.

Oh, I'm sure I'm already mixed up enough;)
Thanks, that helps. It's also less than helpful running it through my crappy old laptop speakers.
Yeah, I was noticing that many have the backing tracks way too low in the mix.

" Sorry I thought you wanted to know if BB tracks are good enough for commercial release ? I have always use Adobe Audition for mixing and mastering the BB tracks for commercial release, but how Biab is now with the 24bit and more tracks I could maybe do it all in that ? These are mixes with BB musicians, the Artist's vocals and other instruments.
