Just my opinion; but I'm not a fan of their lists. I do like a lot of the songs on the list; but I always wonder the best by who's standards? There is no metric beyond what THEY like. To me that's a bit arrogant to say these are the best songs. But hey, I'm not a big fan of Rolling Stone to begin with. Crazy, I know.
That being said, thank you for sharing the list. There are certainly some really great songs on it...in my opinion. I enjoyed the re-listens and debuts I had.

Maybe I need to reconsider myself as a knowledgeable Americana fan. I’ve heard of only the artists represented in five of the tunes. I know Americana is a big tent but this list is seemingly a bit esoteric. I’ve listened to Americana since the genre name started bouncing around 25 years ago and we listen to a lot of Americana playlists nowadays. FWIW. But hey I may find something I like there. Thanks.

Doesn't Americana in 2020 mean "everything else"?
I agree with J3 (Again!!!) that lists are really to be taken for what they are worth. To me it's the same thing as movie reviews. Because some stuffed shirt critic in New York doesn't have the same sense of humor I do (and you all know how wicked and strange that is) he has no place to be telling me what is good and what isn't.
Just think about how 100 different people's car thumb drive may not have even 1 song in common. That's how much tastes vary, and how little lists are worth. Also why I haven't watched the Grammys or the Emmys in 25 years at least. I know what I like. I don't need someone else telling me what to like.
I WILL accept suggestions from people with musical tastes that I trust. When Mario told me about the last Tower of Power CD I got it right away. I know we like a lot of the same thing. But for "Junior in Macon" to say "These are the best songs", nope.
