Schönen guten Tag!
Ich hatte mir damals Biab 2016 als UltraPlusPAK gekauft und erwäge nun erstmals seitdem ein Upgrade, und zwar innerhalb der nächsten Tage, also so lange die Angebotspreise gelten. Dazu habe ich zwei Fragen an die Gemeinde:
1) BiaB 2021 erneut als UltraPlusPAK ist finanziell gerade eher nicht drin, muss aber, glaub ich, auch gar nicht unbedingt sein; so toll die (neuen) Styles ganz sicher sind: Mir ist das alles noch immer viel zu "amerikanisch". Nichts gegen z.B. Country und auch nichts gegen z.B. lateinamerikanische Styles, aber ich persönlich brauche keine 1000 Country-Varianten usw. Daher: Die in den letzten fünf Jahren entstandenen Programm-Neuerungen und ein paar neue Styles würden mir (erst einmal) reichen, denke ich - doch wohin genau sollte ich am besten upgraden? Was wäre die beste und gleichzeitig günstigste Version für mich? Einfach "Pro" (69$) oder doch lieber "Megapak" (99$)... Bin da ein bisschen ratlos...
2) Wie stelle ich sicher, dass ich meine 2016er-Styles im Rahmen der neuen Programmversion nutzen kann? Genau das ist mir irgendwie noch nicht recht klar, und natürlich würde ich gerne, welche Version ich am Ende auch immer nehmen mag, die neuen Daten auf die damals gekaufte Biab-Festplatte herunterladen.

Die Unterschiede der verschiedenen Versionen sind hier beschrieben -> https://www.pgmusic.com/bbwin.packages.htm. Für 30$ mehr gibt es eben mehr Auswahl an Styles und sonstigen Add-ons wie Melodists, Soloists und Artist Performances. Beide Upgrades können via Flash Drive geliefert werden. Für Upgrades wird üblicherweise empfohlen, den 'alten' BiaB Ordner zu kopieren, sodass auf jeden Fall noch die 'alte' Version bei Bedarf verendet werden kann. Als Installationspfad für die 'neue' Version kann der bereits existierende BiaB2016 Ordner angegeben werden. Damit ist sichergestellt, dass etwaige Bonus Pakete aus früheren Installationen nicht verlorengehen. Willkommen im Forum!

Vielen Dank für das nette Willkommen! Die Unterschiede der verschiedenen Versionen sind hier beschrieben -> https://www.pgmusic.com/bbwin.packages.htm. Für 30$ mehr gibt es eben mehr Auswahl an Styles und sonstigen Add-ons wie Melodists, Soloists und Artist Performances. Nun ja, mir ist natürlich klar, dass es, vereinfacht gesagt, für mehr Geld halt mehr Musik gibt.  Das ist ja logisch. Mein Gedanke war bzw. ist: Was mag hier die beste Lösung für jemanden sein, der schon "2016" hat, prinzipiell begeistert ist, die stilistische Gesamtausrichtung jedoch zu "amerikanisch" findet und eben auch nicht nicht auf's Geld zu schauen braucht? (Und Biab zukünftig übrigens in Kombination mit Presonus Studio One Professional nutzen will, falls das für eine konkrete Versionsempfehlung irgendwie wichtig sein sollte.) Als Installationspfad für die 'neue' Version kann der bereits existierende BiaB2016 Ordner angegeben werden. Damit ist sichergestellt, dass etwaige Bonus Pakete aus früheren Installationen nicht verlorengehen.
Irgendwelche Bonuspakete hab ich ja gar nicht; ich dachte einfach, dass es möglich sein sollte, die Styles etc. von 2016 plus die aktuellen unter einem Dach - eben dem der neuen Programmversion - zu nutzen. Geht das so einfach etwa nicht?? Denn Du schriebst "bei Bedarf verwenden" - oder versteh ich hier was falsch...? Verzeih die Nachfrage, und vielleicht steh ich hier wirklich auf'm Schlauch, doch abgesehen von eben "2016" als UltraPlusPAK hab ich im Grunde keinerlei Erfahrung mit Biab...

Damit erhältst du alle neuen Programmfunktionen und alle Styles der Biab2016 UltraPlus Version können weiter verwendet werden. Mögliche interessante Styles können in einzelnen Paketen zugekauft werden - das erfordert lediglich ein wenig Zeit, die PGMusic Seiten zu durchsuchen. Die einzelnen Pakete kosten üblicherweise ca. 29$ (z.B.: https://www.pgmusic.com/realtracks.all.php?os=win). Insgesamt wäre es natürlich kostengünstiger, das Gesamtpaket zu kaufen. Wenn die BiaB 2021 (Pro) Version in das bisherige BiaB 2016 UltraPlusPAK Verzeichnis installiert wird, werden alle Styles des Biab 2016 UltraPlusPAK erkannt und können problemlos verwendet werden. Ich habe es mir lediglich zur Gewohnheit gemacht, bei einer Installation einer neuen Version das bisherige Installationsverzeichnis zu kopieren und einen geeigneten Namen zu vergeben - in diesem Fall bietet sich etwa an 'BB2016'. Dies dient zum einen der Sicherheit, zum anderen ist es gelegentlich hilfreich, Vergleiche zwischen alter und neuer Version per Mausklick zur Verfügung zu haben.

Ich glaube, das "Megapak" wäre durchaus drin ("mein" Upgrade-Preis: 99$), und auf ein paar neue Styles hätt' ich schon Lust. Hab mich gestern mal in eben die Styles vom Megapak reingehört; da sind schon tolle Sachen bei. Das wäre also, glaub ich, der beste Kompromiss zwischen "so wenig Geld wie möglich" einerseits und "so viel Leistung wie möglich" andererseits. Da könnte ich doch lieber 'n Jahr lang ein bisschen sparen und mir in genau einem Jahr ein neues Ultrapak kaufen... Wenn die BiaB 2021 (Pro) Version in das bisherige BiaB 2016 UltraPlusPAK Verzeichnis installiert wird, werden alle Styles des Biab 2016 UltraPlusPAK erkannt und können problemlos verwendet werden. Verstehe ich das richtig: 2016 UltraPlusPAK muss installiert sein, und in das dortige Verzeichnis hinein installiere ich die neue Version? Ich frage deshalb, weil ich mein 2016 bislang nie installiert habe - z.T. aus Platzgründen, z.T., weil's auch so ging... Das BiaB Verzeichnis benötigt ca. 24 GB, RealTracks und RealDrums benötigen zusammen ca. 118 GB bei einer BiaB2021 PlusPAK Installation. Wenn die BiaB 2021 MegaPAK Version auf einem Flash Drive geliefert wird, ist es sicher möglich, die Version in das BiaB Verzeichnis auf dem vermutlich externen BiaB 2016 PlusPAK Hard Drive zu installieren.
Sofern auf der internen PC bzw. Notebook Festplatte genügend Platz ist, ist es sicher eleganter, die BiaB2021 Version auf dieser Festplatte zu installieren. Die Audio Dateien für die RealTracks und RealDrums können auf der externen Festplatte bleiben. Bei der Installation muss dann lediglich der korrekte Pfad eingegeben werden.
Ich habe übrigens eine komplette BiaB Installation hier auf einer 400 GB SD Karte vorgenommen - funktioniert einwandfrei.

Ich habe übrigens eine komplette BiaB Installation hier auf einer 400 GB SD Karte vorgenommen - funktioniert einwandfrei. 400 GB?!? Ich wusste bis eben gar nicht, dass es derart große Karten gibt!  Wie teuer war denn die? Sicherlich wegen der Geschwindigkeit 'ne gute Idee, mit 'ner SD-Karte zu arbeiten.

SD Karten haben mittlerweile TB Kapazität; Preise sind vergleichbar üblicher Flash Drives. Die Geschwindigkeit einer SD Karte sollte nicht verwechselt werden mit Geschwindigkeiten etwa einer SSD Festplatte, reicht aber für BiaB völlig aus. Cool! Ich erwäge das nun selbst auch; das ist eine gute Idee, um sich sämtlichen FP-Speicherplatz von den Biab-Daten freizuhalten. Und so teuer sind 400 GB tatsächlich nicht: https://www.idealo.de/preisvergleich/OffersOfProduct/5720005_-ultra-a1-microsdxc-400gb-sdsquar-400g-sandisk.html - kannste vielleicht sogar konkret diese Karte empfehlen? Und eine allerletzte Frage, dann lass ich Dich in Ruh. Ob ich mir nun die Pro-Version bestelle oder doch das Megapak: Ich werd in Dollar überweisen müssen, oder...? Das hab ich noch nie gemacht; meine 2016er Version hatte ich damals einem Bekannten abgekauft, der sie seinerseits als Upgrade beim deutschen Distributor M3C gekauft hatte - dort jedoch gibt es die 2021er Version noch gar nicht! Wie also läuft das bei einer Überweisung in einer Nicht-Euro-Währung? Kennste dich da aus, oder sollte ich direkt mal bei PG Music nachfragen?

. . . kannste vielleicht sogar konkret diese Karte empfehlen? Genau die hatte ich im März 2018 gekauft - da war die noch erheblich teurer . . . Bezüglich $ oder € würde ich einfach mal den Bestellvorgang durchlaufen und mal sehen, was die PGMusic Webseite daraus macht. Falls die Preise doch in $ und nicht in € angegeben werden, trotzdem einfach bestellen. Die Kreditkarten Firmen sollten das automatisch konvertieren. Die BiaB 2021 MegaPAK Upgrade Version kostet bei M3C 92,60 € -> https://www.m3c.de/pg-music/656153e-band-in-a-box-2021-megapak-pc-upgr./crossg.-engl..Es kann durchaus günstiger sein, bei M3C zu bestellen, da Lieferungen aus Kanada oft mit einer Einfuhr-Umsatzsteuer belegt werden, soefern man nicht eine Download Option nutzt.

Wow, danke für den Link!! Komischerweise bin ich bei meiner Suche nicht darauf gekommen; da war das Neueste die 2020er Version! Dann werde ich mich doch mal an M3C wenden. Sehr gut! Na, ich hoffe doch, dass ich da "ganz normal" überweisen kann, denn ich hab weder Paypal noch 'ne Kreditkarte...
Der Download ist bei den großen Datenmengen natürlich zu bedenken.
Das stimmt natürlich, aber wenn ich das richtig verstehe, bekomme ich da einen USB-Stick geschickt. Find ich auch besser so; das viele Downgeloade nervt schon ein bisschen (vor allem bei nicht soooo schnellen Verbindungen), und außerdem hat man dann "was in der Hand". Ist doch besser.

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums).
