Anyone else playing the Yamaha Tyros 5 workstation ? We got one last month and I'm gobsmacked.
I'm NOT a keyboard player, but, since I can't play the accordion now due to split abdomen muscles it's given me a new lease of life. Hope to start posting tunes again when I get my left hand working on the keys rather than buttons.

Looks highly impressive Graham, wish I had one too, maybe sometime in future.

I do have an old Yamaha PSR 330 over 20 years old keyboard, never messed around with it much until lockdown.

I am or will never be a keyboard player, just have humble ambitions to accompany simple country songs with a few basic chords, and with a little practice I am getting there.

At the moment I am just using the root and fifth on the left hand with basic chords on the right, and its sounds ok for a beginner.

What I find good is the concept of movable chords like on a guitar seems to work on the keyboard as well.

Looking forward to you posting some video playing the Tyros 5

Love the videos on Youtube Graham, I can see how much fun you are having by the big smile on your face, love the playing too, I'm staying clear of the melodies as not that good yet.

I notice that you are using one of those x shaped stools, I got one on ebay for £20 or so, but noticed a few months ago, that one of the legs was bent so had to straighten it out by jumping on it...lol

Hope you have a better one than me.

smile

Graham, I don't have one, but Peter Baartmans knows how to set one on fire grin

My wife bought me the 76 key Tyros 5 for my birthday several years ago and I have loved it. I got the expanded memory and a lot of the add-on voices. The Tyros voices are incredible.

They really are fabulous Keith. We have the 61 key model which is perfect for a smaller space. Still some styles that wonm't beat band in a box though, but I enjoy mixing the two. Great fun
