Using 2021 822 in Win10. IS there a tick box somewhere that stops the hideous cymbal crashes that occur at the end of a phrases when I want a hold - say X... And or also them playing at the starts of changes A to B etc etc? Ive looked in RD in Prefs and also in the drum sets chosen but no dice. Any help PLEEZ. W

You may want to uncheck "First bar of first chorus of song gets a drum cymbal crash". Options > Preferences > Arrange or Ctrl+E then press the Arrange button.
Jim,the box was unchecked.I didnt know it was there.Thanks. Thomas, that WORKED!Thank you. But what I found too was that Rd Countrypopballad^ doesnt recognise X... or even X.., it plays it as a SHOT only.Looking for a better RD now. W

Good luck Wendy. I never really resolved the isssue completely.
The Workrounds work more or less but to me the issue is simply that recording these shots, holds, cymbals etc are done out of context with the rest of the days work and are often plain horrible and unrealistic.

I'm just hoping that one day they'll record extra shots and holds for certain commonly-used RealTracks and we'll be able to specify whether it's a "big" one or not. I'd happily forego a few extra new RealTracks to improve existing ones!
Here's how I have been doing it. Because yeah.... those cymbal crashes are just downright nasty at times when they're in the wrong place.....
So, I do much of my production work in Sonar.... I let BB and RB do their magic and then move it all to Sonar. If I find a cymbal crash to be placed in a most unfortunate place.....I find a simple non-crash drum hit.... I delete the crash, and replace it with a solid hit and audio editing copy and paste wins the day.
That was the technique I used on this recent song. The very first beat of the song.... yep, the first beat, had a cymbal crash. Nahhhhhh come on man!
