I frequently have recorded demos of songs and am trying to set my Band-in-a-Box creation to about the same length by adjusting tempo. I see that changing the BPM for a song does *not* change the duration in the window header, but I feel that this is different behaviour from some previous versions.
It's easy enough to get the information by regenerating the song...when I remember, though it doesn't seem like it should be necessary.
Is this a bug, feature, or complete mis-remembering on my part?

After you change the tempo, Band-in-a-Box doesn't acknowledge the change until after you regenerate the tracks. The length in time is calculated as part of the regeneration process when the new tempo is applied to each beat in every bar.

Yep, that's what I said.  After posting my question, I dug out an old version (2012) that I have on a VirtualBox instance. It definitely updates the duration as soon as the BPM control is changed. So, oddly enough, my memory is fine and we're back to the "bug or feature" question.

Hi pmills, this is a "feature" and not a bug. As a general rule, your tracks need to re-generate after there are any changes to the settings.
I like to think of it like "instructions". If there are changes to the instructions for how the music should play, then clicking the re-generate button tells your tracks to follow the new instructions.
