Hi experts,
I generated a midi version of a song with RT in it and opend the midi file in Studio One (while Biab is still open).
In S1 I cannot use my midi interface Steinberg UR22. I guess it is blocked by Biab.
Is there a setting that make Biab not so greedy (release the interface while Biab is not the active window?)

Simple answer is No. The standard ASIO can only be used by one program at a time. I set BIAB to MME and Reapear to Asio and can open and run both at the same time. Otherwise, there is rumors of certain ASIO permitting multiple access, but this is a function of the individual driver for specific hardware.

Stefan, you asked for a setting. You received correct info, and the setting many of us use in BIAB is MME for the Audio driver. ASIO should be used on the audio program that does recording, and that's your DAW, Studio One. There is no need to have ASIO drivers in BIAB. This way you can have both programs open and functioning. Dan is correct.
