Build 827 didn't completely fix Bar Settings. 'Change by' doesn't work at all.

Is this for MIDI tracks or RealTracks?

We recently learned that Change-By for RealTracks is significantly different in the degree/severity it applies compared to MIDI.

I'm not suggesting that I agree that it works satisfactorily, but try this:

1:Create a short song with RealTracks (e.g. 4 bars and 10 choruses).

2: Use Bar Settings at bar two and change-by using a value of -100 (yes, that should be a dramatic change in volume).

3: Play the song and listen to determine if the volume actually does noticeably change, but only as several choruses are played.

4: Interested to know what your findings are.

Hello all,

I tried your suggestion on my installation (build 827)

Negative values are not allowed in the edit field for the volume change. I put in 100 though.
The style is mostly with RT. The volume change is good audible in my opinion.

But the audio on the end of the song start wobbling in kind of esoteric/klingonian noise. Very, very ugly.....
I would suppose that to be a general issue.
With this going on, it is practically useless to make a recording using this feature.

My settings in german attached. I think you can see though, what my settings are.

Cheers
Stefan

Negative value volume changes are allowed in the English version, so I presumed in other language versions also? Seems this is not the case.

As you can see in his attached picture range is 0-127 for his volume change. Interesting.

My wife asked if I had seen the dog bowl. I told her I didn't even know he could.

I think this needs reporting to the developers, so I'll do that now.

This is normal.
Only positive numbers are accepted for Fade per bar and Louder per bar (Lauter) because they do the opposite of eachother.

Thanks for clarifying, Blake. I hadn't realized/identified exactly which option had been selected.

Could you please go through all the available options in your German Language version to check if all of them only allow 0-100, or do some allow -127 to +127?

The options are:
- Change by
- Fade (per bar)
- Louder (per bar)

I can at times enter negative values for Fade and Louder (see second image, below) but I think these are rejected, and 'Change By' is the only item that can correctly include a negative value. Note that the test for invalid value entry doesn't occur immediately the value is input.
