Here's my second track. Made a blues duet instead of country this time. Both singers are new as well. The electric guitar is once again played by my friend David Henriksson. The drums and bass guitar are from BiaB (Set 32).

If you missed my first track The Storm you can find it on the same YouTube channel.

'Alexander Paul'...

A 'blues duet', eh? That certainly caught my eye. I love it! The implacable tempo as advanced by the drums and the bass swept me up right away as though I was being chased by something. The song has got a 'dangerous', minor key feel/sound to it that was magnified by the suggestive lyrics such as "Evelyn' and 'sin'. The electric guitar performances created a swirling atmosphere of mystery, hungry passion and romantic entrapment. The vocals add their own aural spice and heat to the mix. It's a deliciously dark musical production that leaves sparks and smoke, moonlight and fire in its wake. Truly, a mesmerizing listening experience.

Great blues groove and the guitar was cookin'! Both vocalists performed admirably.

Thanks! Yeah I'm lucky to know the guitar player. I think the choice of vocalists turned out well too.

Hauntingly nice, throughout.

Guitar work drives the song well, but perhaps the vocals could come to the front of the mix a little more.

Great delivery, nevertheless.

Great, Alexander. A wonderful production and a very engaging lyric. You paint an enticing movie with the feel. The haunting guitar soars across the screen encapsulating each moment in a progressive play of potential passion.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thanks! Mixing the chorus vocals and the chorus guitar was probably the hardest.

The male vocal is buried by the guitar initially. Some panning & level reduction of the guitar under the voice would help.
The bvox are a treat.
Excellence guitar throughout.
The female vocal gives this a James Bond feel.
Based on the blues but a cool Europoprock thing - cool.

Cheers

Thanks! Yeah, it's hard to put the track solely in one genre. Same goes for The Storm.

Thanks! It's more me than a group, even though I've used the same guitar player for both of my tracks. I think people will find things in all my tracks that connect them to each other, but my plan is to experiment with many genres and musicians. I might even sing on some track as well.

Used TuneCore to publish my tracks on Spotify. Got completely ignored by their customer service, but finally got everything to work with the help of Spotify's own customer service.

Are there any BiaB playlists or people here who curate playlists that include country and blues?

WOW this is fantastic. Great vocal and guitar chops. I like the mix also. I hope you do more like this!

PS - love the lyrics.

This is fantastic writing!

"With your silky hair
and your dreamy eyes
With your soothing voice
in a dark disguise
You make me sin
Evelyn"

Hi Alexander,

I listened to your song and read all the posts about it.
Your song certainly gives that feeling of James Bond, or some dark tension (in a positive way) that I do like.
This is caused mostly by the vocals of course, but I think it is your excellent composition that realized it all.
and beside that, I also enjoyed that baseline in it. Very nice line and sound.

Hans

Thanks for the nice comments about the lyrics! Lyrics are one of the things I focus on the most. This song actually didn't start out as a duet, but I wanted to try something new and I think the end result turned out well. The idea evolved from a femme fatale character in film noir. Cool that someone made a James Bond connection!

Glad you like the bass line. Some people have commented that the bass is a bit too quiet.
